That's just the nature of theistic belief. It elevates a persons specific bigotries to a position of being held as a true part of the fabric of the universe.
They don't hate hoors...god..the source of all that is and the ultimate measure of truth, hates hoors. Which makes being a hoor far, far worse than if it were just them hating on hoors..and makes their hating on hoors a virtue, rather than a vice.
You have to wonder whether these guys really think that standing before the lord of creation, who allegedly came down at least once and told us to stop being assholes....and exclaiming "I was a complete cunt..IN YOUR NAME!" is going to get them into the club.

If they can't keep the doors open and the lights on to perform their weekly magic spells, then those poor people will end up going to hell, or worse, to the protestants.

Reminds me of a very old joke:
