Priest exorcist warns public on the danger of patronizing horror films

In a Facebook post, Father Ronnie E. Ablong of the Diocese of Dumaguete cited the young woman he has been exorcising as an example.

“I have been exorcising a young woman for many weeks now. Thirty-nine demons have already been cast out. Five of these demons come from the movies the demoniac had watched. The names of the demons are either the primary or secondary characters of these movies,” he said.

“First, Valak ,from the movie The Nun (2018). Second, Esme (Cullen), from the movie Twilight (2008). Third, Sylvia Ganush, from the movie Drag Me to Hell (2009). Fourth, Diana Walter, from the movie Lights Out (2016). And fifth, Annabelle, from the movie, Annabelle (2019),” added Ablong.

He also issued this warning:”Please do not mention or pronounce their names because doing so will empower them or you will be harassed.”

“I’m making this post to warn everyone of the certain danger of patronizing horror films or films that deal with magic and witchcraft,” he said.

“Possession is the result of opening a lot of doors to the devil,” he said.

Theologian Alexander Görlach claims that the Catholic Church is in the crisis of falling apart because it's inhumane, has nothing to offer anymore, and it lost the trust among the faithful.

Today, the Catholic Church is being shattered from within by those who oppose change. They make out anything that is human and humane (empathy with divorcees, for example) to be an enemy and condemn it as relativism and renunciation of the true faith.

Right now, the Catholic Church is currently in its worst crisis since the Reformation and at risk of falling apart.

the cassock-wearing archconservatives who triggered the crisis by tolerating and hushing up the sexual abuse of children and young people by priests are now doing everything to undermine the pope's efforts to reform the Catholic Church.

Communion for the divorced? Never! Married priests? Heaven forbid! Then the whole world would know that many in the clergy are gay (nothing wrong with that, of course, but the Catholic Church, unfortunately, hasn't latched onto the fact). Women in leadership roles? Certainly not! Jesus Christ was a man; no more needs to be said.

The jesuits haven't exactly enjoyed that kind of relationship with the vatican.  It's not something that they can do - but they probably can raise 100mil, and it's a pretty jesuit thing to do.

Given the current pope's a jesuit, now might be the time that they can. But yeah, for most of its history the society of jesù has either been proscribed or barely tolerated.

But after five years under the right-wing populist government of Law and Justice (PiS), during which moves have been made to withdraw from the Istanbul Convention to combat domestic violence, to create LGBT-free zones and to target women’s groups who disagree with it, most Poles know better.

Apart from the main slogan, there is only one other bit of information on the billboards: the listing of a website of Sychar, a Catholic organisation focused on venerating and preserving religious marriage.

“The aim of our community is to save sacramental marriages which are in crisis, at every stage of this crisis, even after divorce,” Andrzej Szczepaniak, leader of Sychar, tells BIRN. “In the Catholic Church, sacramental marriage is sacred and indissoluble.”

Essentially, the group does not recognise the fact that civil divorces trump religious marriages. “Our goal is to find ourselves, after death, in Heaven with our spouses,” Szczepaniak says.

“We strongly oppose the divorce mentality, filing for divorce, consenting to divorce and assisting with it, because no one can propose or accept the breaking of marriage vows entered into before God and man,” he says. “When love is sick, we are not killing it, we are healing it. In extreme situations, like violence or addiction, the Catholic Church allows for the possibility to ask the court for civil separation – long-distance love – but not divorce.”
