Healthcare has been the RCC's golden goose for awhile now.  The news that they wish to expand and consolidate their market share is unsurprising.   Attendance and donations are down.  The Church is the largest non gov healthcare provider in the world, and charity care accounts for only @2% of patients, same as every other for-profit hospital.

Sure, alot of their revenue is in the form of next-level welfare queen-ism..so they can claim to provide care for free -to the patient-........but it amounts to nothing more or less than an ingenuous way to continue to tax the citizenry long after it was stripped of that ability in any country with an ounce of common sense.

Illinois priest charged with 16 counts of child pornography and possession of meth

A Catholic priest that was arrested Monday has now been charged with 16 counts of child pornography and possession of meth.

According to The Belleville News-Democrat Father Gerald R. Hechenberger’s charges were eight counts of distributing child pornography, seven counts of possession of photos and possession of a video. Police said in a statement that the images were of victims under 13 years old.

Protests will kick off during the Pope's public appearances in the Chilean capital on Tuesday, dimming the gleam of the first leg of his return to Latin America, where he is especially popular. The trip will also take him to neighboring Peru.

A database compiled by the group and published on its website Wednesday lists nearly 70 Chilean priests, deacons, religious bothers and a nun who have been accused of molesting children, including some that remain in active ministry.

Some 38% of Chileans regard themselves as agnostic, atheist or non-religious.
