It's what it always was, anti-woman. Catholic opposition to abortion began at the same time women started getting rights of their own and (a lucky few) were beginning to create lives and careers for themselves.
Why did the rcc do a reverse ferret on abortion in 1869? Because it was the only way left to keep women in chattel bondage.
