Damned Catholics
RE: Damned Catholics
The Catholic Church wants to force an 11-year-old girl raped by a family member to give birth

The girl was impregnated after being repeatedly raped and suffering other sexual abuse by the father of her stepfather in the town of Yapacaní, in Bolivia’s eastern Santa Cruz region.

The case has thrown into sharp relief the gaping holes in the state’s protection for women and girls in Bolivia, which has one of highest levels of inter-familiar sexual violence and abuse in Latin America, and what some activists call a culture of rape.

The intervention of the Catholic church is also being severely questioned, after religious groups contacted the mother of the victim and persuaded her to oppose the termination of the pregnancy, a move which has prompted legal action by the Bolivian human rights ombudsman’s office.

“The girl didn’t even know what it meant to be pregnant; she told her cousin that she felt something moving inside her tummy. Her cousin told her mother – the girl’s aunt – who reported it to the police,” said Ana Paola García, the executive director of La Casa de la Mujer, a Bolivian women’s rights NGO.

the child’s mother, accompanied by a woman claiming to be a lawyer for the church, intervened, saying the girl had changed her mind, García said. The girl was removed from hospital and taken to a centre for adolescent mothers.

“There is evidently manipulation by the Catholic church which has practically kidnapped the girl and silenced the mother,” García said. “They are violating her human rights.”

“She is being obliged to continue with a pregnancy which puts her life at risk,” she added.

teachings of the Bible are so muddled and self-contradictory that it was possible for Christians to happily burn heretics alive for five long centuries. It was even possible for the most venerated patriarchs of the Church, like St. Augustine and St. Thomas Aquinas, to conclude that heretics should be tortured (Augustine) or killed outright (Aquinas). Martin Luther and John Calvin advocated the wholesale murder of heretics, apostates, Jews, and witches. - Sam Harris, "Letter To A Christian Nation"

Pregnant woman’s death puts spotlight on Polish abortion law

The 30-year-old woman died of septic shock in her 22nd week of pregnancy. Doctors did not perform an abortion, even though her fetus was lacking amniotic fluid, according to a lawyer for the family.

Reproductive rights activists say she is the first person to die as a result of a recent restriction of Poland’s abortion law. Some who supported the new abortion restriction said there is no certainty that it led to the woman’s death and accused women’s rights activists of exploiting the situation.

The woman, identified only as Izabela, died in September but her case was only made public Friday, triggering protests in Warsaw, Krakow and elsewhere on Monday. People lit candles for her in an evening vigil.

Before the new restriction, women in Poland could have abortions only in three cases: if the pregnancy results from a crime like rape; if the woman’s life is at risk; or in the case of severe fetal deformities. But the Constitutional Tribunal, under the influence of Poland’s conservative ruling party, ruled last year that abortions for congenital defects were not constitutional.

Women’s rights activists say doctors in Poland now wait for a fetus with no chance of survival to die in the womb rather than perform an abortion.

The altar at the Sint-Michiel church in the municipality of Bree, in the Limburg province, was sprinkled with holy water this weekend to restore the church to its former glory after a sex video was recorded there.

Last week, the Limburg police opened an investigation into an explicit video, which showed a man and a woman having sex on the church’s altar, that was circulating on social media.

“From our church, intimacy was made public and put up for grabs in the media,” Dean Jaak Janssen said on local radio on Sunday. “In this way, the meaning of the church building and the altar were wronged. The place of honour to God was profaned. Many people are shocked.”

Bloody catholics and their bourgeois sexual morality.

I once had a girlfriend who liked having sex in public. (under a blanket of course and sitting up) Me? No, not really, not my thing. Apparently she was conceived in a cemetery.   It was summer, and those big slabs or marble were nice and cool.  Good story, I have no idea if it's true. If it isn't it should be.

Complying with gods original sin mandate. I see no problem here. They were nation building for the lord. (Gen 35:11)

Catholic priest is spreading Satanic panic on Fox News

Quote:Priest Compares 'Satanic' Astroworld to 'Gates of Hell'

Father Michael Maginot appeared on Fox News on Monday night where he spoke to Jesse Watters about the fatal crowd surge at the concert and he blamed Satanic influences.

The priest said that the stage on which Scott performed resembled the "gates of Hell" and said it seemed like "you're kind of going down Dante's inferno, the various stages of hell."

Maginot also said that "demons" like to "create a mob mentality"—which he compared to flash mobs and protests.

"It waters down moral responsibility and so if everyone is doing it, then it takes away our own personal responsibility for what is happening," he said. "And they love that because they could create a lot of havoc without people questioning it."

A favourite is the Catholic priest who banned Harry Potter from his school library. The good father was under the impression that the spells are real. The mind boggles trying to imagine how he reached that conclusion.   Yet another dogmatic believer with a non functioning cerebral cortex.   I'm sure you'll be stunned to learn that this occurred in Tennessee.

A Catholic school in Nashville, Tennessee, has banned the entire Harry Potter series of books because a pastor at the school believes they contain real spells that actually work in real life.

The Tennessean reported over the weekend that Rev. Dan Reehil, a pastor at the school, sent out an email to parents telling them that the seven books in the series were being removed from the library. In the email, he tells parents, "The curses and spells used in the books are actual curses and spells; which when read by a human being risk conjuring evil spirits into the presence of the person reading the text."

There is a rise in popularity of “de-baptisms” in Italy, a formalization of one’s rejection of the Catholic Church. The Union of Rationalist Atheists and Agnostics estimates that 100,000 Italians have been de-baptized.
