Perhaps because doing so is to lose sight of the object of morality in the first place..making subsequent "moral" judgements inherently suspect? You can't really know (or reasonably expect) a god pleaser to be operating on any shared moral framework.
That makes them the perpetual other, unpredictable. One day they might help you hand out bowls of soup..and the next they're purging heretics by fire. 9am pre-k fundraising, 10am gaybashing, and a little light slut shaming before a noon-time break.
