I have been forced to take a road leading away from my beautiful life, and there's no u-turns. Long story.
At the age of five, Skagra decided emphatically that God did not exist. This revelation tends to make most people in the universe who have it react in one of two ways - with relief or with despair. Only Skagra responded to it by thinking, 'Wait a second. That means there's a situation vacant.'

All I know for sure is that this thread is borking my GPS and God does not appear to care. And I now have no clue what planet I am on.

It's not something I want to go into at the moment, if it's okay. I've written about it at length many times and I don't want to make everyone roll their eyes.

This life is a test. It is only a test. If it had been a real life, there would have been instructions on where to go and what to do.
If you get to thinking you’re a person of some influence, try ordering somebody else’s dog around.

.....you don't have to believe in God or another divine unit, to believe in your own abilities and happiness..
Your map is in your left pocket, take it out, stretch it out and look at it....smile and think what beautiful life is before you...

Ps. or better give your GPS for repair

Are you such a shallow person that you don't know the difference between right and wrong, you need to be advised every step of the way by a voice in your head? Is this what you're saying?
Are you telling me your belief in god is the only thing preventing you from killing people and stealing things? If your answer is no; then you've just undermined your own argument. If your answer is yes; then please please keep on believing. I hope you never lose your faith.
Edit: Ninja'd, should have read the whole thread.

I feel like...all I can do is cope with life now. I don't see what there is to look forward to, or to take reassurance in. Everything just seems empty.
(Why yes, I'm on meds and seeing a counselor. Doesn't help much.)
Children won't enjoy adult responsibilities, just as adults take little satisfaction in childish games.
But ask yourself this, do you think you will do better in the long run if children gets to pretend to be adults while preventing adults from fulfilling real adult responsibilities?

The universe is so much more awesome, beautiful, amazing without deities! When I became deconverted, there was a brief period of existential angst, but once I figured out that I got rid a bunch of false beliefs, and am now able to accept anything that is best supported by evidence, my entire world became brighter.
See if you can find atheist and freethinker groups in your area, so you don't feel to alone with your disbelief. Support groups are very helpful.
Not sure if you heard about this organization, but it also may be helpful -

You'd believe if you just opened your heart" is a terrible argument for religion. It's basically saying, "If you bias yourself enough, you can convince yourself that this is true." If religion were true, people wouldn't need faith to believe it -- it would be supported by good evidence.
