However, your statement, "What the fuck are you talking about?", is logical.

I am a Christian, not Christianity. Do not confuse me with those jackasses. I am my own jackass and need no help from others! Smile

You're a liar, and a cunt. And I can say this with # 5 sigma confidence. An entertaining cunt at times, yes. But a cunt nonetheless.

I have spoken.
My God! Did you have to tell THEM?! You know, A girls got to have his secrets!

No answer from Drich?

And if God sits someone next to you, or sends someone like me?

What if God is not confined to "speaking to you" in the way you expect to see Him, could you would you be able to recognize His voice?

If God sent you to sit next to me I think my first response would be "er thanks?" and wondering what I'd done to piss him off Tongue I can just imagine the amount of eye-rolling there'd be if we ended up sitting next to each other on a bus Wink

You and Drich could almost be twins with statements like that... probably best for everyone if you two ended up chatting on a bus Wink

You'd probably end up selling each other a car Big Grin

ok not me but how about CL or Fr0ODs or one of the other well like Christians? The point being is how do you not know you have already had an aduence with God through someone who can indeed/been tasked to Speak on his behalf?

Just because you might have a picture of you comming to God through a throne room scene? does it mean God has to play this fantasy out with you? Wold God in your mind be confined to this only type of communication? Why can't He log on to AF.org through one of us?

(December 7, 2017 at 12:10 pm)Drich Wrote: How does God describe Himself? Does He use the "omni-aspects of God the Church uses?" Omni present omniopotent omni benevolent?? NO!

God simply describes Himself as Alpha and Omega the beginning and end to all things, in another part of the OT he says He is "The Great I am."

So what do these two things mean together or seperate?

Alpha and Omega means there is nothing great stronger or before God. this not only includes physical things but principles and or rule/ calls to judgement. Omega kinda the same meaning but on the other end of the book case end. it means nothing is greater after nothing has the last word, His word His decision is final nothing will ever superseded or change what He says.

Now marry that idea with "The Great I Am"

And you have not an Omni-max god because the idea of an omni-max God ties God to the rules of an omni max God. (which is why small minds like epicrus can come up with paradoxes.) Because God has shown in the bible he does not follow what an omni max God could or would do. This means God is not omni max but an alpha and omega. Meaning God is what God wants to be when he wants to be it. Can God create a stone so big He could not lift it? Omni-max God=paradox. Alpha and Omega/Great I am= Yes if He wanted to no if He did not.

Same goes to what does not make sense to you. If God wanted to do "X" then God would do "X" if God did not want to do "X" then God would not have to.

I'll tell you what, Drich.  Once you and the other theists on this forum finally come to a consensus on what god is and what he isn't, and who the true Christian out of the lot of you is, then we can talk.  How do you expect atheists to take your claims seriously when you guys can't even get on the same page with each other?  Do you realize that if asked you, Neo, CL, RR, Steve and Rik each to define god and describe his attributes, I'd likely get six difference answers?  This is a problem, lol.

I posted an response... don't know what happened..

Any way it went something like this:

Jesus and Paul both tell us that the whole of the Law has been reduced into two commandments under this new covenant. Jesus start this premis when asked out of all the law which is the most important. Jesus said honor your Lord God with all of your heart, mind, Spirit and strength. The second greatest command is to love your neighbor as yourself.

To answer your question about which one of us is right if we all have different views, we must look at the first of the greatest commands first.

To love God with all of our being...

This does not mean we indiviusall have to maintain a certain level of faith or obediance as in the OT.. Where there was a list of laws and we had to obey. That system was rigged from the beginning because we were all born doomed to eventually sin. So God obliterated this standard where we must all meet a ceratin line of righteousness when Jesus died on the cross. Why? because God knew we all had our sins/faults that we would never be free of. So what is the new standard?

Simply put it is to do the best we can with all of our hearts, minds, spirit and strength!

Now Paul expands on this lesson when He tells us we are all of one body (we indiviusal are all apart of the body of Christ) meaning we all sever chirst like our indiviusal body parts sever us as our body. Meaning we are all come together to creat a body, not one part more important than another. He give and exampl of pulling a fingernail out by the root, and the whole body wretches in pain for the least of use being ripped from the body.

Paul uses the body anaology to describe our indivisual natures in the church. In that each one ofus has a different job, different ablities, different understandings, or different comperhensions based on their part of the body of Christ. Lets say I am a hand who understands how things work and can build things... While Catholic lade is a heart of compassion, and knows how to speak and interact. Now according to Paul I as a Hand can not judge CL as a Heart because I only know things in line with being a hand to the body of Christ. and in turn CL know what it is to be a heart. Which mean different practices and different standards in how we understand God and how we worship God.

So then who has it right?

None of us, as we only have the manuals to be hands, feet, eyes, hearts, etc...

But that is ok.. Why? because we are simply tasked to do our best as God has made us and in accordance with what he has blessed us with!!! We don't have to all meet a singular standard of Christianity as the Jews did. We do our best with what we have.. not 1/2 assed best but we must use everything to serve God, and grace and atonement will cover the rest..

After all how can God allow willful evil sin pass when here someone is doing their absolute best and serving and worshiping him with all that they are and ever could be and God turn His back on tht person?

That would go against the nature of Christ. (the gentile woman who took her healing from Christ, and he inturn blessed and gifted her that healing)

"Simply put it is to do the best we can with all of our hearts, minds, spirit and strength!"

You're interpreting a verse which is quoted from the Older Covenants where "love" means: to breath after, to desire passionately with all our innermost being, though channels of thought, breath and even to our human end of strength.

I'm not here to do my best in any given situations because I will quickly run out of ideas, breath and strength. But that's such a good place to be because then I can watch God do His best!

BTW, I've used the "Make plans" reply with humorous effect several times.
The granting of a pardon is an imputation of guilt, and the acceptance a confession of it.
