So , communion wafers are not very fattening I take it! My family was catholic and I was skinny then. Then they went Pentecostal and we traded communion wafers for chicken biscuits during Dinner on the Ground. I stopped taking communion when I was twelve , years before my family converted. I never went pentecostal or got "saved" but did show up for potlucks. One of my family's favorite churches had a Filipino pastor, the congregation was about equal parts Latino, Filipino, Navajo, and Gringo. Potluck every Sunday after church. What a spread! One Sunday : Pan Sat, Fry Bread Tostados, Fried Chicken, Elk Tamales. Gandhi said "To a starving man God can only appear as bread". I bear witness to that adage!

Hmmm, 243 lbs seems like a lot on a 5’9” frame, especially a swimmer’s frame, and where would it all go with a 28” waist?

"swimming five miles ahead" plus power lifting to improve my swim strokes. I was coming off three years of physical therapy at that time and staying fit was a major goal and serious entertainment for me.

This was me when I arrived at Puerto Rico. I was 210 at that point. (And yeah, I've posted this before.)
