France is recruiting US scientists to work there instead of in the US. If I were a climate scientist, I'd take that opportunity in a heartbeat.

You all seem to be assuming this was a directive from Trump. Does the article say that? I can't access it, but from what I've read elsewhere, it seems that the directive originated internally at HHS or CDC, not from the White House.

It also seems like this may be an interpretation of what was said.  From what I seen in another article which didn't appear to stem from the Washington Post.
