In Catholicism married couples are not supposed to deny each other of sex unless there is legitimate reason. "I'm not in the mood", is usually not a good enough reason unless there is something else going on. Otherwise, if you're simply just not feeling horny, try harder. For your spouse.

I didnt see the caveats you speak of in her post, but if you are accurately representing what she meant to say, then thats fair. Sort of. Id rather have a talk with my partner and see whats on her mind in case of a recurrent feeling of not being in the mood for sex. And then work on it from there. Sex can wait in such case.

It's sort of like if we were talking about what to eat with Michael Phelps (Olympic swimmer).  He'd say he eats 12,000 calories a day.  By itself, we'd all go "wtf, that'd make you a fatty."  But in the context of his lifestyle, it's completely different.  Despite the stereotypes of old couples who hate eachother but stayed married anyways because of Catholicism, the church's advice on marriage was pretty good.  But it has a lot of ideas that run counter to the current culture, so each piece by itself can seem pretty wacky.

The funny thing about religion, science, politics, philosophy and all the stuff we hem and haw about on here, is that in the real world, a lot of times, it just doesn't mean anything in regards to our relationships with other people.

It's not surprising. Captain Awesome is far from awesome. He should be called Captain Asshole. And he seems to think he's a hell of a lot smarter than he actually is.

It's not about pressuring 'women' for sex. Like it's a bunch of random women. Were talking about a committed partner not some first date. This mght be news to the people of Atheist forums, but you can become horny if you don't start out that way. My gf and I are not alwayd horny at the exact same moment. There are times when she comes home drunk and is mega horny and will wake me up for sex.

She's not raping me, I mean duh. You can make your partner in the mood if they don't start out that way. Denying someone sex is a surefire relationship killer. For all of the talk of me being arrogant, you are the one acting like an expert here on relationships, when in other parts of the forums you admit you don't know all that much about it.
