Technically, I won't be using it until Christmas day, but I do know I'll be getting it. I saw it in its original box in my Dad's closet, and since I didn't get it for my birthday (10 days ago), I'll most likely be getting it tomorrow.

Well not by force of law no. But sure, I think the fact that far to many don't see it for the corporate marketing it has become over the past century yea. And if you want me to buy the birth story, well, is our species hurt by the fact we don't believe in the Egyptian god Horus? The fantastic claims of that story do bother me too. 

But how you personally spend the day is a matter of law, and in that respect, do what makes you happy. 

Look at it this way, just because you like Jim Beam or potato chips does not require everyone else to buy it or consume it.

Most of the reason I am not fond of that particular day had to do with the fact my mother growing up flipped out over everything from the tree to my behavior when we had guests and was really far too obsessed with everything being perfect. To her credit, when she got older, that went away. And just so you know, I WOULD go over tomorrow to visit her if she were alive, because she liked it, so for me, it would be about her, not the day itself.

Jews get 8 days but you don't see them advertising 5 billion years in advance. Most of why I am glad it is over on the 26th is because it is way over done, just like the pop up adds on my computer or the junk mail in my mailbox. I get that people are into it. Cant stop it no. But there is such a thing as too much.

I hope to. Ever since I was inspired to pick up the guitar after discovering the Beatles, I always considered the Vox AC30 the Ne Plus Ultra of amps (even if they were really heavy, expensive, and lacked reverb.) I eventually managed to get an AC1, then a Joyo clone of the Tech 21 Liverpool, and now I've got this amp that can model two of the three channels of the real thing (not love for the Vib/Trem channel, apparently) as well as a bunch of other interesting ones.
