Didn't have time yet to watch the whole video either.
But FOXp2 fucks creationism.
Savannah survival traits explain religious thinking, because stopping to think was once disadvantageous.

You tell me... do you just assume that is the case?
I think that mental illness is the default assumption. Listen to Episode #25; the good professor discusses people who dream of becoming amputees. Mental illnesses takes a very wide form and breadth. Why should I believe that Paul had a divine experience as opposed to some sort of epilepsy?

This to me sounds like something I find to be very common here. That when something opposes your worldview, that it is then defaulted to either lying or crazy.
I would ask why you think epilepsy is a better explanation? Just a guess, but I think it’s going to be begging the question.

Yeah, that's exactly what us religious folks think when we can't find something....
Quote:A changeling is a creature found in folklore and folk religion. A changeling child was believed to be a fairy child that had been left in place of a human child stolen by the fairies. The theme of the swapped child is common in medieval literature and reflects concern over infants thought to be afflicted with unexplained diseases, disorders, or developmental disabilities.

Because there are people who have epilepsy who claim to have visions and hear voices, but once they have the proper medications, the visions and voices go away.

I know a person who is functionally schizophrenic and will be in heaven, she is a wonderful lady you could learn from.

God loves those who believe and those who do not and the same goes for me, you have no choice in this matter. That puts the matter of total free will to rest.

I know someone on this forum (CL, *wink kiss*) who is generally nice to everyone and isn't a total asshat, You could learn from her.

You simply vet the message or experience.
God rarly just burns a bush without providing a message. So test the message.

It's the binary world of good/bad, heaven/hell, free/slave.

That's not it at all sport.
There is no end to the ask part mentioned in the parable or the bible. meaning if you say you asked as in past tense, and you are not currently asking, then you did not follow the instructions. you have to ask open endedly
Here is why we are to ask open endedly: Because in doing so (depending on how hard our heart is) God is to lead us out past our broken/bad understanding of Him, past the point of hope from help of others, to a place of darkness or even prosperty... Well beyond anything we understand.. to the point where only God could bring you back. If you can continue through that God will lead you to where you are supposed to be. All of this in an effort to humble you and have you meet Him on His terms. God will not meet you on yours.

Yeah, you're not humble, I have, ASK'd repeatedly and nothing.
You offer lies, or you are special, and that I believe.

Why do you default to that assumption? If you default to metal illness without reason, then is there something I could provide, which could change your mind? While we don't have direct statements, Paul also had two other people with him who are said to have seen and heard. Do you think this fits your theory of epilepsy?

That doesn't tell me, why you think it is a better explanation. I'm thinking even more so, that this will be circular reasoning.
