I "dated" a girl in junior who was quite religious, as was her family. It wasn't an issue at all until her mother asked me if I believed in god and I answered no. She went on to tell me how here son was killed in a car accident and that it was part of god's plan ect. That was uncomfortable - mind you, I was 14. I got into trouble with her mother another time when I rented The Exorcist for her daughter and I to watch - there was that too. But, overall, it wasn't too bad.

My mother's side of the family is Presbyterian (some more pious than others) and they know that I detest their faith and every other faith. They rarely bring up religion and when they do, it's usually an 'agree-to-disagree' thing. It's pretty great compared to some of the horror stories I hear. lol

My mother is a former Wiccan, now atheist. My maternal grandparents and great-grandparents were spiritualists, while my father's family were all Roman Catholics. My sister is a deaconess in the Metropolitan Community Church. My step-father is Wiccan, my wife is a strong atheist, my ex-wife is a Presbyterian converted to the Roman Catholic Church, my son is RC with heavy Wiccan overtones, and my aunt is the former Chief Presbyter of Chicago and now in semi-retirement as a Presbyterian minister in a small town in Michigan.
