Sounds like you have low standards.
Meh. How bad could it get dating a theist in Canada?

Oh, being with a theist is not the nightmare it would appear to be, as long as their not radical in their beliefs that is. I took 'as long as she has a pulse' to mean that all you care about is that the woman is live and ticking.

Lol, no, I was being facetious. I "dated" a girl in junior who was quite religious, as was her family. It wasn't an issue at all until her mother asked me if I believed in god and I answered no. She went on to tell me how here son was killed in a car accident and that it was part of god's plan ect. That was uncomfortable - mind you, I was 14. I got into trouble with her mother another time when I rented The Exorcist for her daughter and I to watch - there was that too. But, overall, it wasn't too bad.

I'm married to a Catholic but fortunately she and her family are 'watered-down.' They only go to church on holidays and they don't push God onto the heathens. My wife and her mother know that I openly hate religion and are fine with it.

I'm happy that it works for you. My mother's side of the family is Presbyterian (some more pious than others) and they know that I detest their faith and every other faith. They rarely bring up religion and when they do, it's usually an 'agree-to-disagree' thing. It's pretty great compared to some of the horror stories I hear. lol

On the other hand, that requires money. Or immense - uh - tracts of land.

My own Sweetie took me in as a disabled homeless vet with a massive child support payment in arrears to a woman making 100K$ a year. Apparently she saw something worthwhile in me, or she likes slumming for husbands. Love I could never have afforded her dowry.

My family is all over the map. My mother is a former Wiccan, now atheist. My maternal grandparents and great-grandparents were spiritualists, while my father's family were all Roman Catholics. My sister is a deaconess in the Metropolitan Community Church. My step-father is Wiccan, my wife is a strong atheist, my ex-wife is a Presbyterian converted to the Roman Catholic Church, my son is RC with heavy Wiccan overtones, and my aunt is the former Chief Presbyter of Chicago and now in semi-retirement as a Presbyterian minister in a small town in Michigan.

If we snubbed each other based on religion, none of us would be talking to each other.

Wow. Thanksgiving must be interesting. I've never really experienced any Wiccans, besides a few acquaintances. Are yours into spells, black cats and stuff or are they mostly 'one-with-nature'/Celtic pantheistic types?
My mother's side, like I previously said, are all Presbyterian. My father is a Deist. His father, grandfather and great-grandfather were all apathetic (probably atheist/deist) Irish Catholics. My sister is an atheist. Most of my cousins are casual Christians or agnostics, though I have one who is a Buddhist. It makes for interesting conversations. Ironically my sister and I (the only two real atheists) are the two who argue the most when our family has a religious discussion; but, there are plenty of other reasons for that. rofl
