His .. exaggerated .. delayed .. speech is a large part of why I find the original series unwatchable.
His .. exaggerated .. delayed .. speech is also largely the result of parody by others, not so much the man himself.
At the age of five, Skagra decided emphatically that God did not exist. This revelation tends to make most people in the universe who have it react in one of two ways - with relief or with despair. Only Skagra responded to it by thinking, 'Wait a second. That means there's a situation vacant.'

Captain, forgive the blasphemer, for she knows not what she does.
My liking of him is rooted, in part, of his sense of wit and humour, which resonates with mine own in many ways.

Is God of/from earth? then does that not make him an alien?
Better yet. Does God live on earth? yet the claim is he lives in heaven which is not of this earth.
Now doesn't that make God a trans-dimensional alien by modern terms?
If you believe aliens ha anything to do with creation why can't that being have the title 'god?'
Well, that's the grand thing about 'God', innit? The word is so ridiculously nebulous that it can mean anything. You can point to a toasted cheese sandwich and say, 'That's God!' and no one can gainsay you. It's the only concept that has this quality. If I were to point to a quacking water fowl and say, 'That's a rhinoceros' when everyone else calls it a duck, I'd be taken for a loony (and rightfully so).
But everything from the Great Barrier Reef to a small handful of gravel to a maggot-infested corpse in Somalia qualifies as 'God'. So, if you want to title a 'trans-dimensional alien' (whatever the fuck that's supposed to be) as 'god', go right ahead. It's important to remember, though, that when a word means everything, it - literally - means nothing.
Boru You can't be this stupid in real life.
Take the definition of an alien or a trans dimensional being. now see if any part of the defintion applies to God. wait a tick it all applies.
Now take any of your examples and the qualifiers needed to be classified as a maggot infested corpse... now honestly ask does any of that apply? No you say.. then that disqualifies your opening statement in that the word God can't mean anything.
It just means more than what a small mind paints God out to be.

What would god need with a mansion and cool chairs? The book says he's got them. Why not a starship?

The question is from a Star Trek movie. "God" couldn't get off the planet he was confined on. Just like mere mortals he needed a conveyance. That disqualified him as a god according to Mentat Kirk.

Yes, his exaggerated speech is often ... exaggerated. I think he brought some passion to the role of Star Fleet captain that all his predecessors replaced with cool-headed stoicism. TOS was a different show. It was often over-the-top and goofy, with absurd plotlines. While I appreciate the direction the show went in future iterations, I have a soft spot for the original's campiness.
The exaggerated Shatner is not just something people made up. He did do some overacting. His gesturing, specifically, was downright convulsive sometimes. But it meshed with the overall mood of the show as it was back then.

Three, possibly four, non sequiturs in four lines, that's quite an achievement.
Just because you use a 3.00 word does not mean it automatically applies. If you think it does please explain. Because more often than not one man's non sequiturs are simply the limits of his intellect being announced. That is unless you can rightfully identify the logical fallacy you claim.

The irony of Drich saying that... too much to bear.

glob..
Alien is our word. It describes a being with different orgins that what we share in a community or as a race. God is alien to us. should not be a revelation if one simply looks past the small little box we tend to place God in.
