No point in eternal agony
RE: No point in eternal agony
Is that a running stitch or a cross?
I am the Infantry. I am my country’s strength in war, her deterrent in peace. I am the heart of the fight… wherever, whenever. I carry America’s faith and honor against her enemies. I am the Queen of Battle. I am what my country expects me to be, the best trained Soldier in the world. In the race for victory, I am swift, determined, and courageous, armed with a fierce will to win. Never will I fail my country’s trust. Always I fight on…through the foe, to the objective, to triumph overall. If necessary, I will fight to my death. By my steadfast courage, I have won more than 200 years of freedom. I yield not to weakness, to hunger, to cowardice, to fatigue, to superior odds, For I am mentally tough, physically strong, and morally straight. I forsake not, my country, my mission, my comrades, my sacred duty. I am relentless. I am always there, now and forever. I AM THE INFANTRY! FOLLOW ME!

The Illuminati could never pay me enough to deal with this shit professionally.

Part of their job is to sow discord.

And you do it so well.
At the age of five, Skagra decided emphatically that God did not exist.  This revelation tends to make most people in the universe who have it react in one of two ways - with relief or with despair.  Only Skagra responded to it by thinking, 'Wait a second.  That means there's a situation vacant.'

"Of course, everyone will claim they respect someone who tries to speak the truth, but in reality, this is a rare quality. Most respect those who speak truths they agree with, and their respect for the speaking only extends as far as their realm of personal agreement. It is less common, almost to the point of becoming a saintly virtue, that someone truly respects and loves the truth seeker, even when their conclusions differ wildly."

Of course I do. I generally prefer my interlocutors with a wit as sharp as their intellect, and for preference a vocabulary to match, otherwise it's an unfair contest.

Conspiracy paranoiacs don't usually fit the bill.

Because burning for say ten years for all your sins wouldn’t deter enough people from being evil. Ten years of pain with 70 of being a complete loon. Ok sign me up. It’s supposed to act as a deterrent not a punishment. A non negotiable permanent consequence.

Maybe punishment is set up like Adam Smith capitalism ??

God keeps bumping up the penalty bit, humans keep sinning, God pumps up punishment some more, humans get even more creative in sinning, and eventually God throws up His hands and imposes infinite suffering for eternity, and guess what?

PEOPLE ARE STILL SINNING !!!

Ha ha ha, God, you don't have any arrows left in your quiver and people are getting EVEN WORSE !!!!

Humans 1 God 0
The granting of a pardon is an imputation of guilt, and the acceptance a confession of it.

It's all about us, what we get or don't get out of life or anything else...
What if we matter more to someone else?

Then the questions of life may not be so egocentric.

That's religion summed up in one sentence, the anything else being.... Not dying.

Without the threats, why would you care what matters to someone you have absolutely zero interaction with?

I matter more to the people around me, and the people around me matter more to me, than I matter to myself...... by a wide margin.  What's the problem?
