Why am I still worrying about coming out as atheist?

Just be patient, you will know when you are ready to let people know your beliefs.

Atheism is a guess.
There is no evidence that God doesn't exist so deep within your mind there is something that tell your outer mind...........DON'T BELIEVE IN THAT TYPE OF GUESSING MY DEAR.........so you come to face two opposite situations that is why there is clash in your mind.

Now is up to you whether you listen to the outer mind or to the inner mind.  Rolleyes

My guess is that the inner mind at the end always come out as winner even if it take thousand lives before that happen.  Indubitably

Die has already indicated they are atheist, the OP is not about that, it is about deciding to let people know. Stay on topic Smile

Reading comprehension usually drops off when the cognitive dissonance stupid switch is turned on.

You're new or you would know that Ricky can't stay on topic.  Ricky is one of the worst religitards we have around here.

OP: You suspect they'll cut off your hand and sew your knees together?

But seriously, I'll chalk it up to normal teen age separation anxiety.
Being told you're delusional does not necessarily mean you're mental.

There isn't a one-sized fits all answer to this, but life is short, and so, every moment is precious.  Why waste any of it on religious nonsense?  If you are certain that you do not believe, then there must come a time when you must admit such to yourself and to others; honesty requires such.  If not now, then when?  On the other hand, if you are under 18 (or, even over), then your parents and those who are close to them, may make life at least somewhat miserable for you!

Am I "guessing" when I say that fairies do not exist?  Or, should I just trust my "inner feelings" about that?!

When I have a guess I do admit it.
Most atheists on the other hand refuse to admit that atheism is based on pure 100% guess.

Can't you see the gap?  I'm all ears!

Most atheists would say their views are based 100% on lack of evidence. I seldom guess, I prefer to say "I don't know."

Asks if we can see the gap. Follows it up with a goofy head with flapping ears as a hint. Far too easy.

I'm sure Die doesn't need life choice advice from someone who really should come with a label saying "turn towards the light and water daily".
At the age of five, Skagra decided emphatically that God did not exist.  This revelation tends to make most people in the universe who have it react in one of two ways - with relief or with despair.  Only Skagra responded to it by thinking, 'Wait a second.  That means there's a situation vacant.'

I know Die a lot better then you haig.
You are new here so obviously you didn't read much of what Die wrote in the past few month.

She is young and very very undecided what to do with her life.
In some post she say that she doesn't know whether she should be a real atheist or not to say in some later post that now she is an atheist.
What will come next tomorrow in her mind nobody knows.
This is typical of young people that change their mind every few days that is why I did point out to her about inner and outer mind.  Lightbulb

If that is the case they woudn't repeated the same dogmas time and time again.

I rarely heard an atheist say........I don't know so you must be an exception to the rule.

There is a problem with knowing well the inner feeling.
You need a lot of hard work within (within your consciousness) under the teaching of a proper master and that takes time that is why people who never did any hard work in that field hardy know what the inner mind try to tell them.
In this way the outer and inner consciousness by clashing generate a lot of confusion.  Doh

And your concept of atheism is a myth and evidence for your supreme lack of imagination.

Despite your bullshit claims, atheism is not a claim that gawd doesn't exist. It's the rational answer of any who do not hold a gawd belief, whether they believe there are no gawds or not.

I know you desperately want atheism to be a positive claim so you can shift the burden to others. After all, that's an incredibly heavy load. Unfortunately for you, it simply isn't.

Now, would you kindly quit being a fucking asshole about it?!?
