Why are believers still afraid of death?

RE: Why are believers still afraid of death?
That such things seem to be of deep concern for some atheists... has always made me questions their cognitive abilities.

That they aren't for you would make any person question your faith.  Recall, christians don't mind telling other people that getting it wrong will lead to an eternity in hell. This is another issue of concern for atheists...for all of the ways christians attempt to shittify the lives of others...they don't seem to believe their own nonsense. It's almost as if the whole set is a bunch of cynical busybodies......
I am the Infantry. I am my country’s strength in war, her deterrent in peace. I am the heart of the fight… wherever, whenever. I carry America’s faith and honor against her enemies. I am the Queen of Battle. I am what my country expects me to be, the best trained Soldier in the world. In the race for victory, I am swift, determined, and courageous, armed with a fierce will to win. Never will I fail my country’s trust. Always I fight on…through the foe, to the objective, to triumph overall. If necessary, I will fight to my death. By my steadfast courage, I have won more than 200 years of freedom. I yield not to weakness, to hunger, to cowardice, to fatigue, to superior odds, For I am mentally tough, physically strong, and morally straight. I forsake not, my country, my mission, my comrades, my sacred duty. I am relentless. I am always there, now and forever. I AM THE INFANTRY! FOLLOW ME!

Do you not believe it reasonable for Christians to miss those they love even if it's only for a time, are you insinuating we are not human and care not for others. I'm like RR79, it's not about keeping all kinds of rules it is about who you know and that who is Jesus. I've cried for those who I thought were lost because I knew their chances were over. I've cried for friends and family alike and then rejoiced with those still here because we knew we would see them again. How is it an atheist can ever stop crying?

God loves those who believe and those who do not and the same goes for me, you have no choice in this matter. That puts the matter of total free will to rest.

I think that you have a distorted view of the Gospel and Christians.   So your provoking me, by questioning my faith is not that bothersome.

I don't know of any scripture, that says that there is going to be a theological test, that you must pass in order to be saved.  Further, I don't think that their is a scripture that says that you have to be a part of this particular church to be saved.  If you think it does, then show why you think that.

So in this way I would agree with you... I don't believe what you seem to be putting forth.  But I'm not saying that you need to either.  Also most of the other Christians that I know, don't seem to fit what you seem to be describing either.   So whether you where taught  poorly,  have an , or you are just an angry atheists who takes the worst of everything or twists it to be so in order to make an argument.  I don't think that we are taking about the same thing.

Then your mourning is irrational because you will see them again . In fact christians should be over joy their dead because their no longer in an evil sin filled world . As for the idea i should be crying that assumes i want to see them again . Which i don't . We had our time together it has passed. That is all .

Who told you that all believers are afraid of death?
Some of course are but not all.
I am a believer and I don't because there is no such a thing as the consciousness death beside who told you that people die?
Where is the evidence?  Huh

Indeed. What else would be the point with all the schisms?

If everyone who stays and everyone who goes in whatever their latest brouhaha over different interpretations of Scripture is still guaranteed a spot in heaven, what's with all the angst, hard feelings and drama that goes along with a schism?

And while they are a bit more tame these days, in the past it wasn't that unusual for violence to erupt. Hasn't been all that long ago Protestants and Catholics were bombing and shooting each other in Derry. Perfecting their segregation (instead of integrating) seems to have done the trick for them. Not sure how anyone could look at that mess and say they are all together with Christ . . . .
