Depression is something that can affect anyone, from the poorest to the richest, the failures to the most successful, the unemployed to the hardest workers.
I have a pretty good career, a reasonable amount of money, a loving family and friends. Yet, when my depression kicks in, it can hit extremely hard.
I have been suicidal and have, on more than one occasion, come VERY close to ending it.
Playing Cluedo with my mum while I was at Uni:
"You did WHAT? With WHO? WHERE???"

English is no my written language. Inuktitut and French is . Well, I guess if you couldn't make it as a real Psychiatrist I guess a degree in psychology could be kind of a pretend thing. Although I think you need to see a clinical psychologist yourself. Your patients need a refund. More ignorace ? You know what is the difference between a Psychiatrist and a psychologyst ? The first can prescribe pills , that is all.
If you are reffering too research , it's irrelevant the only one that is different is the neuroscientist wich researches the biollogy of our behavior( the simples explenation).
Btw , you should have respect for all those who try helping people.
My only criticism for those in the domain is that they don't work more on prevention leaving to much room for pseudo-psychologists who bias the people with pop psychology.

I seriously doubt the pull-oneself-up-by-the-bootstraps crowd has the first clue how the mind and will can be paralyzed by depression and other mental illness. Judging by comments in this thread, they don't care to.

I take my hat off to anyone who can communicate at all in a language not their own, let alone do it so well. It's something I wouldn't be able to do, I think.
At the age of five, Skagra decided emphatically that God did not exist. This revelation tends to make most people in the universe who have it react in one of two ways - with relief or with despair. Only Skagra responded to it by thinking, 'Wait a second. That means there's a situation vacant.'

Honestly, I knew Tiz was from Canada, but I didn't realize English wasn't his native language. Shame on me to always assume our friends from the north are all English speaking. I mean, I know in Quebec it's mainly French, but for some reason, I just don't associate any of our friends here, with coming from any of the French speaking Providences.
Well, I like learning new things.

Well, I like learning new things. French is my second language because my father was a french speaker (didn't know a word of english)
Inuktitut is the language spoken at home . And it's totally alien to english. Punctuation especially. For example
English- "Bloody agnostics, always fence sitting!"
Inuktitut- "Bᓪoody ᐊᒡᓐoᔅᑎcᔅ ᐊᓪwᐊyᔅ feᓐce ᓯᑦᑎᖕ!"
Hell we had to add latin letters and symbols to make it so moderately knowledgeable non inuit could even read it .
Further there is the fact that a symbol can mean a whole word or a sound
