Well, can we narrow it down a bit? 40,000 plus schisms and denominations and another 35,000 unregulated independent churches dotting the planet makes it pretty hard to know just what anyone is talking about when they invoke the word "Christianity".


Could we narrow it down to the top 1000 or so ? You know, improve the odds of getting it right a little ??

We can measure radio waves, we can examine them, we can quantify them.

We can do none of this with your god. And worse, the one attempt to do so, the bible, showed from its very beginning that your god is an impossibility, no being can be both omnipotent and omniscient.

Perhaps you should familiarize yourself with Occam's Razor. You have access to Google so I'm not going to bother with a link. Occam's Razor is the assertion that if there are multiple possible explanations to a phenomena, the simplest explanation is most likely to be true.

Well, it's a bit more precise than that. William of Ockham's doctrine of least causes states than when you have multiple equally plausible explanations for an event or a thing existing then you chose the one that has the easiest explanation to make it happen.

God assertions don't even manage to get to an equal level of plausibility as naturalistic theories, and thus they do not meet the criteria necessary to be even considered for the Razor.

The simplest explanation to the universe (or multiverse) is that we have no idea of how it originated. Pulling an explanation out of your ass with no evidence has no validity at all. God/Jesus has no more credibility than Allah, nor Vishnu, nor the Flying Spaghetti Monster, nor the Invisible Pink Unicorn.

Not only that it is far-fetched. To the extent the claims of Christianity can be tested (age of the Earth, Exodus, etc), they have been found to be false.

As for the existence of God, I don't see any specific evidence of such. But I *do* see specific evidence of radio waves (my radio, my phone, etc). So, even if I was to regard radio waves as 'far-fetched', the evidence would convince me of their existence. Even more so, I can *test* to see whether the description of radio waves stated by Maxwell's equations agrees with the actual observations.

Don't forget that radio waves were predicted by the science before they were *detected*. Now, what method could you use to detect your God? And can those methods show that we detected *your* God, as opposed to that of Islam, or Judaism, or Thor, or Zeus, or Apollo, or any number of other mythological deities people have made up for their own comfort?

As for Christianity being the 'best' religion. I have to disagree. It is better than some (Islam is often worse) and worse than others (Judaism is pretty decent often), but they *all* fail to support their belief in supernatural entities.

So which is best and which is worse is irrelevant: they *all* fail to show why I should believe in them.
