What Major Intellectual Issue Most Keeps You From Accepting The Christian Narrative?

Replace what you said with mystic babble get the same results

An 'all loving god' is going to send people to hell for simply loving and having sexual relations with someone of the same sex.  And that this god cares so much about what people do in their own bedrooms.  Doesn't fucking compute.  Could only be manmade.
"Tradition" is just a word people use to make themselves feel better about being an asshole.

Methinks thou art suffering from a failure of imagination, Huggy.  I can appreciate that your life experiences have put you into a situation where you find a god-belief more credible than a universe without gods, but that is not universally true.

The things that made you a believer are just not convincing to us, and if you actually want to hold a conversation with us and not just troll us with petty insults, at some point I think it would be worthwhile for you to try to see things from our points of view (and not a parody "angry atheist nihilist" POV, either).

Should your answer be no since you see no evidence of these other dimensions?
No Huggy it should not.   Notice that I knew of the term higher dimensions because I was aware that there is some evidence of them.  However, prior to reading the ensuing discussion in this thread I had only the vaguest notion what they were. I try not to opine about things I know nothing about.   Having read the little bit in this thread about them, I'm glad I did not as they are not anything like my earlier notions.

Your question did help  me pin down another reason why I don't believe in god though. Its not just that there is insufficient evidence for god, but also that so many people are trying so very hard to present what little evidence there is as if it were proof.

If a huge group of people spent their time saying that dimensions other than the first four existed because of a vision, or because it's such a beautiful idea, or because it's moral to believe in them, I'd probably have told you I don't believe in them.  Why? Because tons of bad evidence is an indication that there is no good evidence to be found. If physicists then began making a priori arguments for their existence I'd be pretty certain they didn't exist.
If there is a god, I want to believe that there is a god.  If there is not a god, I want to believe that there is no god.

It does compute.

Sexual relations are only allowed through the institute of marriage, the purpose of sex is to reproduce. men and women having sex outside of marriage is wrong, just the same as same sex couples have sex is wrong, those things are perversions of what God set up in the beginning.

Sin is nothing more than perversion... For example a lie is a perversion of the truth.

Sex was not the intended way for humans to be produced, we were supposed to be formed from the earth just like Adam was.

Adam had this power but lost it through the fall.

Therefore God allowed man to reproduce by sex through marriage.

Bull fucking shit.
If you think that a gay person deserves to burn in hell forever, then you are fucking sicko and you should be the one tortured for eternity.  I'd go into how you should be tortured, but I'd prefer not to be banned from the site.  But needless to say you are a despicable, worthless human being.  You should stop wasting our oxygen, and stop being such a fucking sorry excuse for a human being.  I'd call you a maggot, but I hold them in higher esteem than I do you and your ilk.

I don't think anyone has presented anything as 'proof', hence 'faith'. What I'm saying is that there a things that exist beyond what your 5 senses are able to detect. There were people in biblical scripture called prophets or seers that were able to enter into another dimension and see visions, I posted this video of Carl Sagan a while back.

Carl Sagan on what encountering a being from a different dimension might be like.

to quote the video at 4:04:
Quote:"Getting into another dimension, provides as an incidental benefit a kind of "x-ray vision". Now our flat creature slowly descends to the surface and his friends rush up to see him, from thier point of veiw he has mysteriously appeared from nowhere, he hasn't walked from somewhere else he's come from some other place. They say

"for heavens sake what happened to you?"

And the poor square has to say

"well I was in some other mystic dimension called Up"

And they will pat him on his side and comfort him, or else they'll ask

"well show us, where is that 3rd dimension, point to it."

And the poor square will be unable to comply."

Below is audio of William Branham, (the guy the who was in the picture with the light, whom LFC mistakenly referred to as Billy Graham earlier in the thread) who was known to see visions as demonstrated in the clip, at around 5:46 Branham states that he's in another dimension (turn on cc).

Now reconcile the 2 clips together, they match perfectly.

Yeah no shit. No matter how hard I try I can't sense neutrinos for example. But there are many things that can only be sensed using instruments. And because they can be objectively measured in a reproducible way we can confirm their existence. This does not mean to say that we should assume the existence of something that cannot be sensed at all.
