IDK.  I do know that what makes or breaks QOL for cape buffalo doesn't make or break QOL for cattle, though.

I'd wager that we can keep cattle in comfort exceeding the expectations of any cape buffalo.   The issue in that case is methodology, not domestication.

As with tofu, it's all about the sauce.

Probably more a case by case basis, I guess. If everyone cared about their animals enough to give them the kind of life they all want and deserve, we wouldn't have threads like this.

I'm am not a vegan, nor do I advocate veganism, but I am still troubled the images displayed in the OP.

It could be argued that western society eats too much meat, traditionally with every meal. Pound for pound, it takes more energy to produce meat than vegetable crops. It would be one thing if animals were treated in this way to feed starving people. But it is only to fill an excess.

The utilitarians argue that animals are members of the moral community, and our treatment of them says more about our general morality than it does about our regard for animals.

Doctors suggest drinking water or tea to suppress excessive eating.

There's no reason to go straight veggie when we could just not treat animals like utter garbage. I've been considering going local for my meat sources, buying a meat share to be delivered. Haven't decided on one yet.
