Soccer. Watching it. Following its politics. Etc. Same with gymnastics. I got into it first in the '92 Olympics from Barcelona. Now, wit the whole Larry Nassar thing, I'm really back into watching and reading about it, hoping that USAG reforms itself and this kind of thing never happens again. College gymnasts seem full of joy on the whole. It's astounding that Nassars exist.

Also a fan of college tennis, college volleyball, and sailing. Especially the America's Cup and Volvo Ocean Race.

I suppose travel is a hobby, but as a middle age adult, and not a kid anymore, it is very stressful now, too. But I do like planes, trains, automobiles and ships. I enjoy YouTube vids on big ships.

Other than being a fitness fanatic, i enjoy exploring new places. I do lots of photography on my spare time as well.

I have a whole bunch of hobbies.

• Playing woodwinds in community concert bands.
  
• Taking in the local arts scene (symphony, ballet, jazz, sometimes theatre or an art gallery)
  
• Astronomy.
  
• Gardening.
  
• Writing.
  
• Home brewing.
  
• Winter sports like cross-country skiing and snowshoeing.
  
• Occasional forays into visual arts.  Mediocre 2-D imagery; much better luck with sculpting.
  

We also do a lot of gourmet cooking at my house, but that's more of a necessity than a hobby.

I make jewelry, I knit, I sew quilts, I agitate my kids, I shoot pool on an APA league, I embarrass my kids in all public places, I stay up way past midnight, I collect MTG cards (I currently have about 9000 cards) and I smoke pot.

We are listing hobbies, right?

Road trips. Bicycle riding around towns I don’t know. Writing. Craft beer hunting. Organizing poetry events in the community. I do all these things frequently enough and I’m satisfied. I’m currently researching cruiser bikes, because I want to get my own, load it to the back of my car, and stop having to use rentals every other weekend when I go out of town. This weekend is the first weekend in a very long time that I don’t have a road trip planned. That might change by Friday. The road is my therapy. I wouldn’t mind taking up photography, but I’d need to invest in a decent camera. Godscreated also sparked my curiosity with carving, but I haven’t done anything to actually start. I’m always too busy heading out the house.

Give yourself some time by reading up on different kinds of carving, carving might not be for you and usually if one will read about it one can determine to a certain degree whether they would like it or not. On bikes I have a Surly and love it, they are pricey but well worth the price. I bought mine new so the bike shop could fit a bike to me and it has been most comfortable to ride even at distances. When i have time . And i imagine if i retire . 

I wood carve it's very relaxing . My house is loaded with  stuff i have done .

I’ve been fascinated by the art of wood carving for many years. I bought a curved spoon knife and tried my luck at carving a spoon. It didn’t turn out too great, lol. I love to watch YouTube vids on spring-pole lathes, axe carving and whittling.

 Carving spoons isn't as easy as it might look and I would suggest getting a video on carving spoons, you can learn the safe way to carve them and how to do it with a lot less effort, most spoon carving is done with green or semi-green wood (not dried out).

I have many hobbies and leisure activities, but currently the range is far more narrow where I am here in SE Asia, then back home in the western world. Here, I have retained my more abstract hobbies of language study, continuous education, reading, writing, and intellectual discussion.

Back in the western world, in addition to those things, I enjoy playing sports, going to the gym, camping, hiking, collecting books/stamps/currency/antiques/HOCKEY stuff, gardening, horseback riding, bicycling, skating, hiking, camping, old school photography, cooking (often for guests), ICE HOCKEY ICE HOCKEY ICE HOCKEY ICE HOCKEY.....

One thing i want to start again  is stone carving . I have done it before  when i made  my grandmother then my mother's grave headings and play with it when i was a teen  . But i hope to try something a little less grim. Maybe something like this

I don't think i have a hope in hell of winning but still....
