For me a sense of humour is a way for me to deal with some of the things I have encountered in daily life.

Remember that people make jokes about things without really targeting a person, or group.  My reaction to jokes depends if someone's just doing it for humour or being malicious.

I joke about killing and serial killing all the time.  That doesn't mean I'm serious or targeting anyone anyone speciific maliciously.  I honestly done know if anyone here knows someone who has been murdered (I do).

Just be careful about over reacting to PERCEIVED slights

Well fuck, now I'm depressed. See what you did? Wait, didn't do. Wait............

Maybe it's the fact that I know what I'm talking about (something TVTropes calls "N-word Privileges") and maybe it's because I've lived a messed-up life and I've come to see that life is a joke and its punchline is The Aristocrats, and all you can realistically expect to do to make it better is just laugh at it all (as the little  paraphrase of Scaramouche in my signature might have clued you in on).

Yes exactly. You really get me. This is my same attitude towards life. I tend to laugh at all of it. It's how I deal with it.

Anyway, I think any jokes are okay. Some people have dark or violent sense of humor, some offensive, some clean. It's all okay. And it's okay to not want to hear it. But I hate when people claim that it's wrong to make certain jokes. No, it's not. (Unless the joke is like physically harmful somehow or something, or directed at an individual who isn't laughing too)
