Mucinex is Guaifenesein, an expectorant.
Rubitussin is Dextormethorphan, a suppresent.
They are 2 different drugs.
Now, Mucinex DM has Dextormethorphan added to it. And Rubitussin DM has Guaifenesin added to it. So Mucinex DM and Rubitussin DM are the same thing. But Mucinex and Rubitussin are not.

Coming into this thread late, but my protocol for having a cold?
- Figure out which kid got me sick.
- Blame it on the youngest, because it's usually him.
- Bitch about it for four days.
- Go on strike and make everyone else in the house do all of the housework.
- Give it to the next victim in the house.

Lol, I know, that's why I said I take Mucinex when I have a cold to help me drain. And yeah, I've taken it for fertility purposes as well.
