Churches have employed the help of police to stop traffic in order for church congregants to be able to exit more easily into traffic.

I personally figure the police have better things to do and that the church congregant issue of leaving the premise should be their own business.

Every damn Sunday!

BTW, we are talking about pedestrian's, right?

We can't spend public dollars directing church goers IRON cars now, can we ??

Nope. Not pedestrians. We're talking about their cars.

The boyfriend says the church pays the cops to do it.

RE: Silly church people
Why pay any one ??

Bible says prayer can move mountains, traffic otta be a piece of cake. Hold up a staff and watch the traffic divide !!!

Unless God's iron allergy is a problem.

There's a mega church about 5 miles from me that uses the police for traffic control purposes on Sundays. As long as the church is paying for the service, I don't see an issue.

Some people just hate religious folks. That's all it really comes down to.
"Of course, everyone will claim they respect someone who tries to speak the truth, but in reality, this is a rare quality. Most respect those who speak truths they agree with, and their respect for the speaking only extends as far as their realm of personal agreement. It is less common, almost to the point of becoming a saintly virtue, that someone truly respects and loves the truth seeker, even when their conclusions differ wildly."

For me, I don't hate religious folk. What I cannot stand is those groups of people who insist on waving their religion around like its more important then my constitutional rights. Your religion shouldn't get the benefit of government help in *any* capacity, if your church or religious organization isn't willing to pay for it.

Illegal for public to pay church expenses.

I'm thinking many folks would have a problem with public coffers supporting Islamic or Satanic facilities.

The US public IS paying the Palestinian Authority for lifetime income for their personnel who KILL US servicemen and women.

I have a huge problem with that.

Yeah. I understand you may think going to church is a waste of time, but still there's going to be traffic. I get it near where I live because of a school. The police are there every weekday, but I'm not going to ask if they have something better to do with their time.

If the city/county is paying them I care very much.

Do you mind stopping and asking who pays?

AFAIK they're off duty officers picking up some extra money. There may be exceptions but it would take cashy money to get me out of bed on Sunday morning.
