Knowing god outside a biblical sense

180 on remarriage following divorce, but gay stuff is still WRONG.

Who gets to decide this stuff, or is it based on # of pew warmers and/or $$$ ??

Not true.

God's word is universal and unchanging!

I think even the Methodists are warming up to legal gambling now. They wouldn't turn down a cut in the offering plate even if they knew where it came from.

GC

FTFY.

95% of Christians would renounce their religion this very minute if there wasn't "very much loophole" circumventing Matthew 7:1. And since that is something that actually came directly from the mouth of God, God's word doesn't really mean shit to the believer.

Most of them aren't very keen on the serpent and poison thing either.

Personally, I find extra-biblical theism entirely more credible than magic book worship.
I am the Infantry. I am my country’s strength in war, her deterrent in peace. I am the heart of the fight… wherever, whenever. I carry America’s faith and honor against her enemies. I am the Queen of Battle. I am what my country expects me to be, the best trained Soldier in the world. In the race for victory, I am swift, determined, and courageous, armed with a fierce will to win. Never will I fail my country’s trust. Always I fight on…through the foe, to the objective, to triumph overall. If necessary, I will fight to my death. By my steadfast courage, I have won more than 200 years of freedom. I yield not to weakness, to hunger, to cowardice, to fatigue, to superior odds, For I am mentally tough, physically strong, and morally straight. I forsake not, my country, my mission, my comrades, my sacred duty. I am relentless. I am always there, now and forever. I AM THE INFANTRY! FOLLOW ME!

I have to concur with you there, Khem. Not only is it more agreeable, it's more plausible. That was the point I was trying to make to Steve (using pluralism) in the other thread.

It's the majority position of christer belief, as well.  Even if they'd prevaricate unto the end of days to avoid simply acknowledging that they don't believe in magic book any more than you or I.

You're not supposed to talk! You're just a woman!

Hey Beccs, let's start a thread where we only talk the way to good book would like us to. That'll be a lot of fun in an extremely innapropriate way... I bet no theists will join in! Hell, they'll just call us heathens! Big Grin
