Actually the bible says god says that.
The bible, the book of contradictory myths that doesn't present your "good" god in the best light.
In fact, if the Christian god us good I'm glad to be nothing like it.
Whether you want to believe it or not the Bible is God's word and what you think doesn't really make a difference in what the Bible is. The Bible shows God in the best light, you can't see it because you can't understand the simplest things about God, your unbelief blinds you, just as God said in His word the Bible. I'm nothing like Him but I want to be because I know who He is.
