Of course, another point is that I'm too busy playing AoE2 to play anything else Tongue

I play that daily.

I need a game that is one player, played offline, and isn't just kill-kill-kill-kill-kill-kill-kill-kill-kill-kill-kill.

I love it when the AI suddenly has fifteen trebuchets two minutes after going Imperial.

I'm no good at realtime, I need a lot of breaks.

Did you know with the Userpatch the AI can play almost like a human?

Look at this:

It all comes together nicely and I’d agree with you Napo, one of the best I’ve played in a long time. The farther son stuff really worked for me, and thankfully there was no touchy feely ‘everyone is special’ bullshit which I could easily see being shoehorned into this type of story.

There were probably 2 or 3 lines which I did cringe at a bit, that felt a bit cliche. But honestly the level of storytelling and screenplay overall is as good as any major blockbuster movie if you ask me.

Still, as I look over your description again, 30 hours seems kind of short for a game.

DAI, for me, was over 100 hours of playtime.

Even HZD is seeming like a long game.

I look at it like this. I didn't buy God of War because I was expecting hours after hours of endless gameplay. If I wanted that I'd buy Skyrim or Fallout (I mean I already have those but you get my point).

I bought it expecting some epic boss battles, a cool story and awesome gameplay. I got that in abundance and more. In fact, the narrative and what goes on on-screen is levels above anything a game like Skyrim, DA:I or even HZD can produce IMO. That's why I bought it. These 100 hour games are just filled with fetch quests and for the most part pointless shit, let's be honest. Yes we enjoy playing them because the worlds and games are great, but God of War is not just great, it's fucking spectacular. I don't play Inquisition or Horizon and jump out of my seat at the sheer epicness of what's going on on my TV. God of War makes a point to do this routinely throughout the game.

So yeah, it's shorter and probably takes less time to complete than those other games you mention, but it easily earns its value in those 30 hours because I had more fun and excitement playing it for those 30 hours than I did with most other games I've played.

And it's also worth saying there's enough content to probably push 50 hours plus worth of gameplay in a single save file. What I'm hoping for is some DLC or a new game+, which sadly I've seen the developers mention they won't be doing. I hope they change their minds or are just toying with us.

*edit, specifically regarding HZD, I bet you could speed through that game's story in about 15 hours if you really wanted to. You couldn't do that with GOW.
