Rational Theism
May 1, 2018 at 7:01 pm
At first glance for the atheist, that seems a contradiction in terms.
Let us imagine for merely an instance that there is such a thing.
The first thing I want to know is how does the rationalism present itself? In what way according to biblical scripture that reads more like Grimm's fairy tales.
Let us make that the start for the thread.

Why would rational theism be informed by magic book at all? If that's what jumps out..when trying to determine how theism could be rational, then we might find it useful to remind ourselves that magic book's problems are magic books problem. Not gods problem.
The god of classical theism so beloved by believing rationalizers..... was a pagan god, after all.
I am the Infantry. I am my country’s strength in war, her deterrent in peace. I am the heart of the fight… wherever, whenever. I carry America’s faith and honor against her enemies. I am the Queen of Battle. I am what my country expects me to be, the best trained Soldier in the world. In the race for victory, I am swift, determined, and courageous, armed with a fierce will to win. Never will I fail my country’s trust. Always I fight on…through the foe, to the objective, to triumph overall. If necessary, I will fight to my death. By my steadfast courage, I have won more than 200 years of freedom. I yield not to weakness, to hunger, to cowardice, to fatigue, to superior odds, For I am mentally tough, physically strong, and morally straight. I forsake not, my country, my mission, my comrades, my sacred duty. I am relentless. I am always there, now and forever. I AM THE INFANTRY! FOLLOW ME!

Because those who accept biblical theism as real do not accept fictional writings as real.
Umm, I think you're confusing classical with modern.

Yep, oxymoron from where I sit, but I'm sure not for them.
Being told you're delusional does not necessarily mean you're mental.

A rational biblical theist would have found a way to depart from this world already.

Self harm is not an option, but creatively....

If an theist is truly rational, how can he regard what gets him to heaven as being harmful?
