No it is pretty simple really.  You're a squirrel, C_L is a poopy girl, Neo is a pompous ass (by his now description), and MK is now competing with Rik for the title of biggest moron who isn't an atheist.

This tells me most probably Rik has the better phrased arguments between him and I, by how much you guys mock him.  My arguments are getting pretty robust and thorough if you guys are resorting to these tactics though.

Nah it will just result in all the Theists KOing each other .

Do it.  Do it.  Do it.

Caution to the other theists: careful with C_L, she's younger and will probably hurt you.

Your arguments aren't getting more robust, MK, but your sense of certitude is. Quite frankly it seems like you are becoming increasingly unable to listen. It seems like you want to speak and think others should listen. You speak. They listen.

You don't need to listen to them. They are deceivers, after all.

(And, btw, the "tactics" that one's interlocutors use during discourse indicate nothing about the robustness or thoroughness of one's arguments.)

Yet, when I use to talk with a softer tone and pick words wisely like "I feel that..." etc, people attacked me for not having a tone of certainty. Even when I clarified, it's for the sake of etiquette I do so, people said I should not because it makes as if I am not even convinced of my own arguments.

You are damned if you and damned if you don't.

That's true, MK, and I can personally relate to what you're saying.

Uncertainty is more honest, yet people don't trust it. People trust certainty, and will be more apt to believe in you... even when it is merely posturing. You're screwed either way.

I kind of came to this compromise (not saying it will gel with you): When trying to win friends, influence people, get a job, or get laid--project certainty.

When trying to understand that which is not readily apparent, or having an honest discussion in order to get closer to the truth--admit uncertainty.

The thing is if you are posturing and somebody recognizes it for what it is--that's your problem.

But if you are actually uncertain about something and someone rejects it because they need someone who appears certain--that's their problem.

(Just my 2 cents. Not really like I have it all sorted out or anything...)
