RE: I am a better person than God!
Well, god's not a "person", so of course you're a better "person" than god. Tongue

Look at the bright side = you didn't live 30,000 years ago.
Depending on how merciful and nurturing humans were then I might not have lived very long. But yes my life until then would be comparatively much worse.

But he doesn't. Science can provide palliative care, and in some cases, genetic manipulation via stem cells to help. Please help me to understand your position.

RE: I am a better person than God!
I asked a pastor once why god lets thousands and thousands of kids under 5 die everyday from malnutrition , he said that we have to believe that it is all for the greater good and our ways are not his ways.

We had what seemed to be the whole town praying for a boy that was getting a heart transplant, and he got the heart. Died from complications 3 days after the surgery, his body rejected the new one.

I've seen enough of gods moral virtue. The christian one anyway.

You should be asking yourself why you an the rest of humanity allows these children to die, there is enough food in this world to feed everyone, yet nothing is being done about it. Why? Could it have to do with love of money, love of self, I'm just one person what can I do, space travel that will not help the starving children, wasted money on fancy cars, homes and clothing, feeding our fat bellies till we complain we've eaten to much, shall I go one I'm sure there are at least a 1000 more reasons man cares so little. The pastor should have answered you like this, God has put us here to help those in need, we are the physical hands and feet of God, we are to go and do for others, give of ourselves. Now I'm sure that many atheist here will respond for different reasons but none will admit it is our (human race) responsibility to give up all the stuff we think we deserve to help those who are in need. God help us all!

God loves those who believe and those who do not and the same goes for me, you have no choice in this matter. That puts the matter of total free will to rest.

If I had been on the scene, I woud have done everything in my power to stop this crime. I believe all of you would have.

Every believer on this site, CL, GC, Drich, MK, Atlas, would have done what it takes to stop this crime.

Instead, what we are told by believers is that we have free will and the assailant will one day be accountable.

What this means is that if we were to act like god we should not intervene but observe the crime occuring then bear witness at his trial.

I believe our morals are superior to the God of Moses/ Jesus/ Muhammed!

He;; we're all better than God in as much as even though none of us are omni anything, we're still capable of intervening to help someone or a potential accident/disaster.
God on the other hand, is just happy to not get involved. He'll kill 'em all and sort them out later.

Killing is not a bad thing at all in God's eyes. For life here on earth is just an intermediate temporary position.
Hence, his lack of actions and the genocide of old. But did he have to make us with a nervous system so we can feel his wrath?
Must innocent kids who die through no fault of their own suffer as part of his big plan?

Apparently , yeah.
Then people wonder why the fuck we'd even comtemplate worshipping such a monster.
If he was on fire, I'd put it out with more gasoline.
No God, No fear.
Know God, Know fear.

I am better too.

Not only would I prevent rape, but if I was God, I wouldn't need to. I wouldn't have made rape possible in the first place.

Of COURSE human beings bear the responsibility for human suffering - there is simply no one else to blame it on.

But if you live in a haze-filled Godism, it is incumbent upon you to determine why children get bone cancer, harlequin foetus syndrome, and 1000 other fatal or debilitating birth defects when God could simply have made those impossible.  Or - in the case of children dying from malnutrition or preventable diseases - it is YOUR job to explain why God couldn't at least ameliorate this by making people less greedy and more giving.

In a universe with an all powerful, all knowing and all merciful God, EVERYTHING has to be laid at God's door, any other position is simply ludicrous nonsense.  In a universe without such a God (and ONLY in such a universe) we have only ourselves to blame.
