The fact that his every "proof" of god is a particularly inept appeal to consequence strongly suggests that his wishes played a huge part. It's also very informative as to why he can;t seem to understand why no one else believes he "proved" this that or the other thing.

He can;t imagine that other people don;t share his hangups, or that their own wishes for a world in which x wasn;t true wouldn;t lead to the belief that y is true.

LadyForCamus, I thought the same, I thought I would never come back to Islam, was 99.9% sure I would not in my mind, than, it was a 50% thing, then eventually, I gained enough perspectives.

What you and GC don’t seem to understand is that wishing something were true is not a reason to believe that it is. Personal preferences are not reasons, and they shouldn’t be reasoned from either.  Reality cares not a lick about my subjective desires.  As soon as you guys hear an atheist say they wish god was real, you think that my wishing of it can be used as a way to persuade me into belief.  Is that how it started for you, MK?  You really, really wanted it to be true, and you worked your way backward from there?

He not torturing those in whom He loves. He is punishing those who hate us and Him. I can most definitely draw a distinct line between the two. those being punished are not the same as those being set apart/loved.

If your father was a soldier who fought ISIS or the Nazi's and caused a great deal of pain to anyone wearing a Nazi or isis uniform could not not then accept his love? or do you cheapen his loving efforts because he has the balls to defend you and the rest of this nation from those who would see harm to come to you or that would hate you? do you hate your father because he was not 'progressive enough to have a random cross section of isis fighters and or anyone who hates you because you love him, into your home and have him try and force our lifestyle on those people?

Or are you truly smart enough to know that one man's hero is another mans boogeyman?

How many 9/11 style attacks has their been against the United states since 9-11-01? Do you think it is for a lack of trying? or is there a greater work happening here? a work greater than the faith of a radicalized muslim who firmly believes that if the die holding on to their plans their reward in the after life will be without measure. and if they give themselves up they will go to the deepest part of hell. do you think these guys just roll over after a few days of metalica being played a 11 or being made to eat bacon?

Look at france they have a no torture policy, and then ask how many attacks have the french people suffered? do you think it is because of the alantic ocean and radical islamists are afraid to boat over or fly?

Even the UK benefits from the intell we and our allies gather in the name of western civilization. to pretend that you do not live in a terrorist state is because radical islamists give u their buddies because they don't get 12 hours sleep a night and are made to eat bacon and eggs is beyond being naive.

You enjoy your freedom because someone's dad had to turn the screws on bad men in order to keep the rest safe. if you can't thank others for doing a job you could not do, then you should enjoy the freedom they provide us in silence.

I may not be in a position to judge a man wicked or not, but I do know there are men who can and do, all the more with an all knowing all powerful God. If either make such a determination then let hell fire and brimstone rain down on them forever. I care not what happens to ISIS fighters. and if you were honest with yourself you would say the same. The only reason you won't because in this scenario you become the ISIS fighter.

Real things? You don't have to want them to exist for them to be real. They just are. Imaginary things, on the other hand....

None of that is true.

Proof of God is in God Himself. You simply have not had an audience with the Lord. from which there is no doubt. there is nothing trivial nor anything that can be dismissed.

You can't/won't believe because God will not appear before you in a form you expect. 

how hard is that for me to understand? It's not. because if God did appear to you in his current form, but you were expecting another, how then would you know it was God or one of his messengers you were speaking with? For example what if you were expecting to see this:

How then could you be convinced that what you believed and expected your whole life (family guy god) is and always was wrong. which is why you never got any one on one from that guy, but miss out on the real thing because you are wanting something else?

For you the real interaction is meaningless because you were expecting a dog and pony show. yet the proof you sought was always infront of your face. God hid in plain site from me for a very long time. or rather it took me a very long time before I could see what was always there infront of my face.

Understand It's not that God is not there for you. you just have no idea what you are looking for and are too g/d proud to look for anything else.
