Anyone trying to claim Maxine Waters is a bully like Trump doesn't know their history and is ignorant as fuck.

Anyone trying to equate the press as being the bully that Trump is needs to visit North Korea and spend some time there.

Anyone trying to equate Comey, Mueller or Rosenstein as being the bully again, needs to visit and spend some time in an authoritarian state.

TRUMP is the only bully in all this and his dangerous rhetoric must be fought. His behavior is dangerous to our institutions and checks on power. This isn't just because he targets minorities, that is a huge part of it yes, but he attacks even his own party members.

The use of scapegoating and hyper nationalism as a political tactic leads to the atrocities we should all want to avoid.

Human beings are greedy, the concept of institutions are human constructs.

Competition is going to happen  no mater what, there is no way to stop that. But to vilify every journalist as individuals is carpet bombing. The same vilification Hitler and Stalin and Po Pot did to dissent, and they used media to spread that totalitarian behavior.

I think the media is like any other human run entity, it can be used for good or bad. 

I have problems with media too. But I will not allow the mindset of blanket vilification by politicians to be the social norm.

Fox News/Fox Business does propaganda for the Republicans.
MSNBC does propaganda for the Democrats.
CNN does propaganda for both.

Other presidents have attacked the First Amendment but they are far better at hiding it than Donald Trump. For some reason, it takes a president of the party that a person doesn't like to get into the Oval Office for that individual to see the abuses of power in the halls of power. They all do it but Donald Trump is so brazen about it and he is so incompetent that's it's hard to miss.

I belive there was one statistic which said that Barack Obama jailed more whistle blowers than all previous administrations combined. Donald Trump is merely continuing the authoritarian trend. People didn't seem to care so much when it was Obama doing the attacks. Why?

I think people are talking past each other here.

Trump's vilification of the press is bad. Period. Full stop. It's designed to eliminate criticism and silence dissent.

The people's distrust of the media has been a thing long before Trump ran for president. Alex Jones, Brietbart, etc. have existed for a while, and speak to a segment of the general population having an antagonistic view of mainstream media.

The mainstream media itself is incredibly weak in this country. Sensationalism and punditry has largely replaced actual reporting, and political coverage/outcry has largely been neutered due to the threat of a loss of access. That the vilification/gas lighting works is an indication of the Fourth Estate's weakness, as is the press' reluctance to call Trump out on his BS.

I'm not sure what the solution is, but the press' inability to be the people's check on political and corporate power has long been brewing. Trump is merely capitalizing on it, and trying to drive a final nail into our free press' coffin.
