How about $6 a month for Young Sheldon Cooper any time?
If you are interested in a run-of-the-mill space opera and don’t mind some very faint cosmetic styling cues derived from Star Trek, then it’s fine.
If you think Star-Trekness is itself an significant value driver then there is little value of that type there. It’s really a new show trying too hard but not too successfully to milk old time Star Trek.

To date, there's only around 20-something episodes (26?), with no release date yet for season 2. It can be binged in a couple weeks or less.

Everything that goes wrong, the Vulcans are at fault. A Vulcan ship shows up in the locality, they're spying on him. T'pol makes a suggestion, "I'm not good enough, is that it?" The Vulcans don't get there quick enough when he needs their help, they're trying to make him fail. They offer help when he doesn't think he needs it, they're trying to show him up.
Watch the SFDebris Enterprise reviews (it's where the name Future Guy was invented for the temporal cold war enemy).
Yeah, one of Enterprise's greatest failings is in its characters. For whatever reason, the writers thought that an inexperienced crew being the pathfinder vessel from earth meant that everyone should be a gibbering idiot (or worse).
Captain Archer, a young-ish and brash man with a chip on his shoulder to prove to the Vulcans that humans could hack it in space, dealing with his first command and all the pressures associated with everything is a pretty decent starting point. Captain Archer, the whiny, paranoid, incompetent, racist? Not so much. And all of the other characters have similar flaws.
Trip - casual racist and Archer's partner in stupidity
T'pol - treats whatever the Vulcan Science Institute says as dogma
Reed - is supposed to be a continuation of Britain's naval tradition, is actually a small, petty man who whines as much as Archer (so much for that stiff upper lip)
Mayweather - grew up in space and had more experience with alien species than anyone else, hardly ever offers advice or does anything more useful than being Archer's chauffeur
Hoshi - can speak a million languages, a skill that's useful maybe a handful of times in 4 seasons... Has no other discernible attributes
Phlox - alien doctor whose polygamous society is mostly played up for laughs
It's just a ship of fools. Mostly unlikable, utterly incompetent people who claim they're open-minded explorers, but at every turn demonstrate that they're just space rednecks gawkiing at and insulting everything that's different than them. The episode "A Night In Sickbay" is probably the best example of everything wrong with the series, but a lot of its flaws just permeate everything, in smaller doses.
*I'm using racist as in outright aggression towards anything not human.
Hoshi actually had another characteristic. She was scared of everything!
Oh and the pilot encapsulates the sheer incompetence of Starfleet. Send your ship out on your organisation's maiden long term independent voyage and you can't even have the crew picked and trained up or the ship properly outfitted. If NASA did the same with Apollo 11 it'd have looked like one of the more whacky Kerbals fails.

This fact alone was something that made me wary of getting into the franchise. Eventually, I wound up watching a single episode of Voyager before taking on “USS Callister”

One of the few bearable Voyager episodes. But, man, what a waste of potential that show was.

DS9 remains the pinnacle of what Roddenberry's vision had to offer. I loved Voyager, but its pilot marked the beginning of an inevitable decline. I love Trek. But it's over. Tune in to reruns if you want to catch that feeling.

Really because the person who made DS9 went against Roddenberry's vision at least some elements and quite a few episodes were devoted to tearing down it's mythology .

A dark character like Garak also gets a sympathetic role
Sisko is the anti Picard
The Federation is depicted as heavy handed and at time hypocritical
It adds the supernatural and religion to a series that was highly secular
And it kind of became pro war as the Federation becomes slowly more militaristic

This.
DS9 is still my favourite series, though Voyager and TNG are pretty good.
My favourite DS9 eps include "The Visitor", "Way of the Warrior", and the ep that I can never remember the title of where Sisko brings the Romulans into the war.
Best DS9 character is Garak, as far as I'm concerned.
Voyager was most pretty average with excellent episodes and others that are on par with TNG's "The Royale", "Shades of Grey", and "Skin of Evil" - bloody awful.
The best thing I can generally say about Enterprise is that the highlight of most shows is the end credits.
There was, however, a great two parter set in the mirror universe. That was very well done.
But their way of playing fast ond loose with canon really bugged me. They encountered the Borg and the Ferengi?

I don't think the Federation became pro-war. I think that they were shaken out of their complacent "peace at any cost" attitude and realised they would have to actually fight occasionally after Wolf 359.
Remember the Defiant (to me the best small ship to come out of Starfleet), was the first specially designed warship the Federation had built, and it was specifically designed to fight the Borg.

In defense of enterprise the Borg can be explained by time travel and the fact that the Federation simply may have not made the link between the Aliens the Enterprise encountered and the Borg or the documents were simply lost .
As for the Ferengi their never refer to themselves as the Ferengi and the stargazer never visually saw them

They seemed more and more willing to pro resort to aggression to solve it problems hell they even turned the other way when section 31 tried killing all the founders and they planted a spy in the Romulan government
As for the defiant remember it was shelved because the Federation didn't want to make warships
