Alex Jones and Infowars gets 'disappeared' - are we headed in the right direction?

These platforms -are- regulated. Should they be regulated further, in any sense relevant to this thread or to jones? Emphatically and certainly not.
I am the Infantry. I am my country’s strength in war, her deterrent in peace. I am the heart of the fight… wherever, whenever. I carry America’s faith and honor against her enemies. I am the Queen of Battle. I am what my country expects me to be, the best trained Soldier in the world. In the race for victory, I am swift, determined, and courageous, armed with a fierce will to win. Never will I fail my country’s trust. Always I fight on…through the foe, to the objective, to triumph overall. If necessary, I will fight to my death. By my steadfast courage, I have won more than 200 years of freedom. I yield not to weakness, to hunger, to cowardice, to fatigue, to superior odds, For I am mentally tough, physically strong, and morally straight. I forsake not, my country, my mission, my comrades, my sacred duty. I am relentless. I am always there, now and forever. I AM THE INFANTRY! FOLLOW ME!

Wait.  Aren't the republicunts the ones who are always bitching about government "regulation?"  Or are they just fucking hypocrites on that, too?

There is nothing stopping him from creating another account. The banning was pointless because he can find any number of suckers to start a new page and then he can just take over it.

Disclaimer for the stupid: I hate Alex Jones.

In fact he has his own website, traffic to it had been in complete decline for the last few years and have skyrocketed since the ban. I checked the Alexa ratings.

The prohibition, like all prohibition, is ineffective. It just makes people want to know what he has to say more. I don't think I ever heard Alex Jones even mentioned off line until this ban. Him and all his wackjob ideas have just gained more noteriety. Look at how often we've been talked about him on this forums.

Also don't forget the real most important thing, how much someone is googled.

Anyone who thinks this ban has helped combat disinformation has not looked deeply into the stats behind it.

Quote:Internal emails from Google show employees discussed altering the company’s search-related functions after the travel ban was announced to help users push back against the controversial policy. The Wall Street Journal’s John D. McKinnon and Douglas MacMillan report: “The email traffic … shows that employees proposed ways to ‘leverage’ search functions and take steps to counter what they considered to be ‘islamophobic, algorithmically biased results from search terms ‘Islam’, ‘Muslim’, ‘Iran’, etc.’ and ‘prejudiced, algorithmically biased search results from search terms ‘Mexico’, ‘Hispanic’, ‘Latino’, etc.’ The email chain, while sprinkled with cautionary notes about engaging in political activity, suggests employees considered ways to harness the company’s vast influence on the internet in response to the travel ban. Google said none of the ideas discussed were implemented. … The disclosure is certain to fuel complaints by many Republicans that [Google] stifles conservative viewpoints online and promotes a liberal worldview.”

It's cheap and easy to build and put up a website. Let his bullshit stand on it's own two legs.

Let his supporters 'support' him then.  If they have any money left after paying the WLB's tariffs when they get home from WalMart.
