Pennsylvannia Pedo Priest HORROR
#31
RE: Pennsylvannia Pedo Priest HORROR
Should the Catholics open their records in all states? Should all states start investigating the Catholics?

Penn can't be a one off. Sounds like the thing to do as far as I'm concerned.

I would say it's yet another symptom of a much larger problem. Just as Ireland and so many other places are.

Yes. And the statute of limitations should be extended in situations like this. These assailants used the social stature of their place within a religious hierarchy to commit and cover up assaults against minors. The nature of the crimes demands a focused, unfettered investigation, and harsh punishment for those found guilty of committing them.

I mean, Massachusetts is dealing with another scandal regarding this: https://boston.cbslocal.com/2018/08/10/b...n-omalley/

This shit is widespread, and isn't going to go away until there's actual penalties for bad behavior. Priests, especially, due to the soft power of their social status/reach/influence, need to be held to a higher standard. Any standard at all would be a good first step.

What's with all this surprise and alarm, where have you people been these last 40 years?

Meanwhile...

The Irish state will pay for security and other logistical costs during the visit, which Irish broadcaster RTÉ suggested would cost 20m euro (£17.6m) in total.

No one is going to jail.
This is the oldest, richest, most powerful, most corrupt, non productive industry the world has ever seen.
And yet it prevails. It prevails because the foul pox that is Christianity is burned into the human psyche. We will never be rid of it.
It's amazing 'science' always seems to 'find' whatever it is funded for, and never the oppsite. Drich.

I'm not shocked by Pennsylvania at all. If Boston taught us anything, it's that this bullshit has been baked into the church from the outset.

Yeah there are two prices

Quote:The event will be paid for by fundraising and four national church collections, with officials saying 5m euro (£4.4m) has already been raised in collections.

The Irish state will pay for security and other logistical costs during the visit, which Irish broadcaster RTÉ suggested would cost 20m euro (£17.6m) in total.

There is price of 5m euro for the event and then for security and other logistical costs. So that 5m euro for the "event" means 5m euro for the Pope personally.
teachings of the Bible are so muddled and self-contradictory that it was possible for Christians to happily burn heretics alive for five long centuries. It was even possible for the most venerated patriarchs of the Church, like St. Augustine and St. Thomas Aquinas, to conclude that heretics should be tortured (Augustine) or killed outright (Aquinas). Martin Luther and John Calvin advocated the wholesale murder of heretics, apostates, Jews, and witches. - Sam Harris, "Letter To A Christian Nation"

You mean - the Holy Stone of Clonrichert?

(Apologies that the quality of the video matches the quality of the guy's spelling).
At the age of five, Skagra decided emphatically that God did not exist.  This revelation tends to make most people in the universe who have it react in one of two ways - with relief or with despair.  Only Skagra responded to it by thinking, 'Wait a second.  That means there's a situation vacant.'
