Christians: Can you see why atheists don't buy this stuff?

RE: Christians: Can you see why atheists don't buy this stuff?
And already explained that this idea is bullocks .We most certainly can judge ideologies from their worst examples because it calls  into question it's tenets for allowing or not preventing such abuse . If your ideology can be hijacked by monsters or idiots it's on your ideology .
Seek strength, not to be greater than my brother, but to fight my greatest enemy -- myself.

I do believe in Biblical inerrancy, however; I am not without error.   Which is where I think that some go wrong. Your video makes me think of the quote from Augustine that “you should never judge a philosophy by it’s abuse”. As well as the academic principle of charity. That is that you should contend with the best possible version of an argument, and not judge an idea by some crazy or extreme adherent.

(emphasis mine)

Asserting the Bible is inerrant is heresy:

2 Chronicles 18  (KJV)
22 Now therefore, behold, the Lord hath put a lying spirit in the mouth of these thy prophets, and the Lord hath spoken evil against thee.

Jeremiah 8  (KJV)
8 How do ye say, We are wise, and the law of the Lord is with us? Lo, certainly in vain made he it; the pen of the scribes is in vain.

Ezekiel 14 (KJV)
9 And if the prophet be deceived when he hath spoken a thing, I the Lord have deceived that prophet, and I will stretch out my hand upon him, and will destroy him from the midst of my people Israel.

The Bible itself contains errors, deliberately dictated by the Lord God Almighty.
The granting of a pardon is an imputation of guilt, and the acceptance a confession of it.

Do you think that perhaps these in context where speaking about specific things? I don't think that these are saying what you think they are saying. Perhaps you should read for understanding rather than prooftexting.

RR:

you should be grateful you no longer have to contort and pretzelize your brain trying to make sense of all your Bible twaddle

Ezekiel 20 (KJV)
25 Wherefore I gave them also statutes that were not good, and judgments whereby they should not live;

Your argument isn't with me, it's with The Lord God Almighty. Either you or God is a heretic.

Actually, that poll aligns with Scripture. God lies, they are in the Bible, and folks are catching on.

Biblical inerrancy is a VILE heresy.

A god, or venerated object of similar distinction, cannot be a heretic by definition, since whatever it is said to do or say automatically becomes canonical doctrine.

At the age of five, Skagra decided emphatically that God did not exist.  This revelation tends to make most people in the universe who have it react in one of two ways - with relief or with despair.  Only Skagra responded to it by thinking, 'Wait a second.  That means there's a situation vacant.'

Isaiah 45 (KJV)
6 That they may know from the rising of the sun, and from the west, that there is none beside me. I am the Lord, and there is none else.
7 I form the light, and create darkness: I make peace, and create evil: I the Lord do all these things.

A surprising admission to some folks here, undoubtedly.

I would probably answer that the Bible is the inspired word of God, but could see where I could answer literal word as well.   Probably depends on what I feel is their intentions in the question.   And it doesn't surprise me, if this is in decline in the US.   Cultural Christians are falling off and it's becoming less popular in that way.

There are a number of reports that the faithful Christians are growing stronger.  New Harvard Research Says U.S. Christianity Is Not Shrinking, But Growing Stronger Not that my choice is based on popularity.
