When I came back from S.E.A. I shared a room with a Navajo dude. We got friendly and it got to the point when we could wake the other person up at night if we needed to talk. The nurses joked that we have matching crazies. He was released two days before me and waited until I got cut lose, then took me up to the Res. First night there we did peyote and smoked some very nice weed, "only been in the US for four hours, man!" The headman joined us and told tall tales far into the night. They were videos for me, I could see everything about them, down the beads on the peoples' clothes. Once in a lifetime experience.

Fractals and stuff like that I've seen, but I never thought the tree was anything other than a tree.

Exactly what psychedelics have you done? Have you tried LSD?

Mushrooms and acid. One year I got pretty into it, and honestly I don't think I'd want to be any higher than I've been either. I've done maybe around 50 hits of acid in my life and mushrooms a similar amount of times.

But I always felt pretty in touch with reality. Other people who took the same acid seemed out of touch. I don't know.

Sometimes I think either my brain chemistry doesn't respond the same way, or people embellish stories about tripping to make them seem more interesting than they are. Probably a bit of both.

I know a guy who said he watched a couch turn into 100 kittens and crawl away on mushrooms. I mean, wtf.
