Listen, you don't need to be "well educated" in "political thought" to be president. America doesn't want that, they want future president Kanye to simply solve all the world's problems, which I'm confident he will do while recording a hit album and being the first gay fish elected president.

No, he's making the known argument that the prison loophole in the 13th amendment led to essentially a second era of enslavement of African-Americans. This happened in the South for decades post-Reconstruction, and black people are still targeted for drug crimes at disproportionate rates. What's stupid is: the Republicans are the ones perpetuating it. So he has no idea what the hell he's saying. All bold is mine.
To answer your question to me: Read what I bolded. You answered your own question. That's why. If someone is going to make a political statement, they should at the very least know what they are talking about. Celebrity or not. That goes for ANY American but maybe more so with people of influence. He has a following and he has youngsters that look up to him. As with anyone else in that sort of position - again celebrity status or not - if you are in a position where others look up to you, then you shouldn't say things that make you look stupid.
You have a very good point! But I'm afraid that what constitutes "knowing what they are talking about" means "what I agree with." You may not necessarily be a culprit, but I see it all the time online and on news programs. Liberal celebrities (which is 98% of them) are always welcomed by liberals, but a lot of them really don't know shit; they just know they hate Trump.

Get this: A number of Republican senators have spoken out against what Trump said about Ford yesterday at a rally. He mocked her just days after saying he found her to be credible.
