And I always want to ask them - Why?? Why do kids need a fear of god in order to be moral and good? Isn't this a parent's job? Why is morality tied to their Christian god? And if this is their plan, then why do believers still do bad things?

I am just venting. I am tired of arguing with people, so I won't say anything. But if god enters my child's school, I would consider it a true downfall of modern society, not an advancement.
I'd reply with something like, "Oh, you mean like in ISIS and Al-Queda controlled regions in the Middle East?"

Many philosoohical ideas may be exchanged about thar.

I'm told that god is omnipresent.
I am the Infantry. I am my country’s strength in war, her deterrent in peace. I am the heart of the fight… wherever, whenever. I carry America’s faith and honor against her enemies. I am the Queen of Battle. I am what my country expects me to be, the best trained Soldier in the world. In the race for victory, I am swift, determined, and courageous, armed with a fierce will to win. Never will I fail my country’s trust. Always I fight on…through the foe, to the objective, to triumph overall. If necessary, I will fight to my death. By my steadfast courage, I have won more than 200 years of freedom. I yield not to weakness, to hunger, to cowardice, to fatigue, to superior odds, For I am mentally tough, physically strong, and morally straight. I forsake not, my country, my mission, my comrades, my sacred duty. I am relentless. I am always there, now and forever. I AM THE INFANTRY! FOLLOW ME!

I went to look at a car one time that was way up in the mountains. The guy told me that they "were closer to god up here". I said (with a straight face) that no matter where you are, you're always the same distance from god.

The people who lead the charge for Intelligent Design and their ilk seek to make for a less-informed populace. They are easier to lie to and lead that way. With the Age of Enlightenment and the internet, that sort of misleading and misinformation is getting a lot tougher to push.

Shortcut parenting for lazy ass people who are prepared to scar their kids for life.

I find it hilarious that we can apparently keep God out of school. Us atheists must be a really powerful lot.

We should teach about all gods and Gods in school.  Everyone would benefit from a bit of comparative religion.

Just tell the Christians that if we let their God in our schools, they have to teach evolution in their churches.

If you're in the USA and this happens, you need to alert the FFRF so that they can begin a lawsuit against the school district for violation of Separation of Church and State clause. Religion has no business being in any part of government, including our schools. If a particular class subject discusses all forms of religion as part of a history lesson, that's different. But to expect kids to pray or do anything religiously affiliated with any religion, when it is against the law, is not acceptable.

Why is gawd such a pussy? An omnipotent being should be able to get into any building it wants into. No law, constitutional amendment or building material will change that.

Then again, we're talking about a deity that needs legions to be offended on its behalf when someone calls it a name. That's son e weak assed shit right there.

Huh.  Prayer in school so people will fear of God and respect for human life?  Hmmm.... lemme think about this....

Deuteronomy 20:10-18 (NIV) Wrote:When you march up to attack a city, make its people an offer of peace. If they accept and open their gates, all the people in it shall be subject to forced labor and shall work for you. If they refuse to make peace and they engage you in battle, lay siege to that city. When the Lord your God delivers it into your hand, put to the sword all the men in it. As for the women, the children, the livestock and everything else in the city, you may take these as plunder for yourselves. And you may use the plunder the Lord your God gives you from your enemies. This is how you are to treat all the cities that are at a distance from you and do not belong to the nations nearby.

However, in the cities of the nations the Lord your God is giving you as an inheritance, do not leave alive anything that breathes. Completely destroy them—the Hittites, Amorites, Canaanites, Perizzites, Hivites and Jebusites—as the Lord your God has commanded you. Otherwise, they will teach you to follow all the detestable things they do in worshiping their gods, and you will sin against the Lord your God.

It seems that someone is greatly overestimating the degree to which God and respect for human life go hand in hand.
