RE: Federal Judge Orders White House To Temporarily Restore Press Access To Jim Acosta

It's self inflicted wound-o-clock..again, at the whitehouse. They've announced that they're gonna yank his creds again as soon as possible, further cementing their fate in the first amendment issue. Not only was there no process to which he could appeal...it's been made obvious that his appeal to the judiciary over executive malfeasance will not go unanswered.
Thus blowing up the whole "without fear of reprisal or punishment" thing.

And shouldn't every White House Administration set ground rules for conduct and order and how their own Press Briefings will be conducted?
Thoughts?
You set ground rules in advance. That's kind of what makes them 'ground rules'. You don't get to make them up as you go along. The White House doesn't have to run press briefings. But if they do, they have to run them impartially.

Thankfully, they're only having this spat with one guy at present. If they make a pattern of it, then they'll be in hot water over freedom of press. So long as it remained the blatant attempt to smooth over the emperors wounded and fragile sensibilities...the admin could have taken it's lumps and moved on. Now it's becoming an issue not of whether the gov can trample on our liberty, but just how hard it can do so with the assent of others in government and some portion of we the people.
If this whole sorry debacle ends up yielding an even greater concentration of power into the hands of the executive, and in direct conflict with the press, we may as well scrap a few amendments, disband the current press..and have an official state press. This would be the eventual effect, why not proceed directly to Go? Shuckabee can directly deliver all the news that's fit to print, about the dear leaders flawless victories over the pig dogs attempting to sabotage this nation.

I cannot repeat this enough. 45 is NOT politics as usual. He has gone way beyond what should be tolerated in politics. His rhetoric is dangerous to the stability of our institutions and checks on power. He burned his way through his own in the primaries including insulting the service of war heros. He insulted his own intel. Continues to do so today, as well ad vilifying the free press.

Do you ever notice the same people who take the 2nd amendment to be 'unlimited' in scope, never take the 1st to be the same? Especially odd considering the words "Well-regulated Militia"

"Well-regulated" meant "in working order" when the constitution was written. It had nothing to do with legislation / legal regulation that we associate the word with now.

Not that it dispels the open hypocrisy being alluded to, lol. No one was ever concerned with the original intent of that dead..dead document. I don't know why this surprises anyone. The executive, by its nature, is greedy for whatever power it can soak up. This is a bipartisan trait. That the right, in this instance, has no time for the first and the fifth is just more of the same and in no way surprising.

Indeed. It all becomes clear when restated...
"A well-educated citizenry being necessary to the security of a free state, the right of the people to own and read books shall not be infringed."

Yup. In plain english it pretty much means "In order for a free state to be secure (against tyrants, e.g. King George), the country must have working/viable militia(s). In order for a country to have working/viable militia(s), the people of the country must have the right to own and use weapons, and the country cannot infringe upon that right."

I never said otherwise. However, the purpose was for a militia. The purpose was not a call for unlimited access to weapons for citizens like we have today.
