Should Flat-Earthers be debated or ignored?
#91
RE: Should Flat-Earthers be debated or ignored?
Everyone's brain is composed of the same neurons and glial cells as everyone else's (excluding obvious exceptions). We all have a tendency to think the same way, come to the same conclusions, and make the same errors.

I disagree with labeling anyone as an "idiot." Mostly because it gives a false sense of security that our brains are somehow immune from error.

For me personally, concluding the earth is round requires making measurements and observations that I'm not in a position to make. So I welcome being questioned about something I accepted on the authority of others.

News flash: There are idiots in this some, and sadly, some of them don't have to be, they just chose to be that way.

Agree to disagree I suppose.

An image of the earth that I neither took nor saw taken, but accept on authority. Illustrated by the fact that most of us assume such images are taken with a single shot, when they're actually composite images stitched together.

I've been doing conspiracies since 1965. Nothing new but the targets.

Our brains are not immune to errors.   But they are generally far less susceptible to error, particularly where that counts, than yours.

And considering their ring leaders have been decimated in debate and they have been forced to invent ever greater conspiracies atop conspiracies to preserve their loony beliefs ...

When you see a guy present "proof" by stringing a wire between two posts about three feet apart and challenging people to find a "curve" in them you know they've rather given up.
