Should Flat-Earthers be debated or ignored?
RE: Should Flat-Earthers be debated or ignored?
Yeah, people here debate evolution deniers and they're the same as flat Earthers: the have a huge gap in their knowledge which they refuse to fill and just insist that they're right.

If some flat Earth opened a topic on this forum I think I would see you all debating him/ her.
teachings of the Bible are so muddled and self-contradictory that it was possible for Christians to happily burn heretics alive for five long centuries. It was even possible for the most venerated patriarchs of the Church, like St. Augustine and St. Thomas Aquinas, to conclude that heretics should be tortured (Augustine) or killed outright (Aquinas). Martin Luther and John Calvin advocated the wholesale murder of heretics, apostates, Jews, and witches. - Sam Harris, "Letter To A Christian Nation"

If you present to the fence-sitters there's nothing wrong with that. Just don't think you'll change many minds among the true believers.

Ignore the people, address the issues. If we let them go unchallenged some people will think they actually have a case.

These people are probably unable to think for themselves anyway; they'd probably be duped by some thing or another with or without us "address[ing] the issues."
If you're frightened of dying, and you're holding on, you'll see devils tearing your life away. But if you've made your peace, then the devils are really angels, freeing you from the Earth.

I'm not worried about the flatters. I'm just determined that they will not be the only voice heard.

I've had it up to HERE with flat earthers.  The next one that approaches me about this, I swear I'm going to take him to the edge and push him off.

But I've prepared so many comebacks for a flatter when he/ she comes here, like: "Hey look, even NASA is making pins to educate you"

"So who are you going to believe? NASA or some guy on the internet?"

Work on the material, not the person.

A friend of mine recently recanted his stance on FE. Proud of him for seeing his way out if that shit. Well, sort of proud.
