None of these things noted are a conspiracy to deliberately mislead, either...and isn't that a weird definition for "chance" to begin with?
What, if anything, makes a psyop more credible than the mundane operation of human memory, cultural change, and auditory satisfaction? Every version of every story in magic book rattling around in peoples heads is an "alternate version". To be blunt..the entirety of faith is a collection of individuals with private "alternate versions" of the stories. Hell, there are just as many different jesus' as their are jesusists. The character is a standin for our individual psyches..., for every man, and..narratively, has always been so.

I'm beginning to think they're all wolves.

50% of gays can now get into heaven, due to the guys at CERN giving us this passage:
Luke 17:34
KJB
I tell you, in that night there shall be two men in one bed; the one shall be taken, and the other shall be left.

Yeah ![Big Grin Big Grin](https://atheistforums.org/images/smilies/biggrin.gif) This was apparently "grinding grain" before, and they deleted the word grain (according to Christians who think the ME is in play).
I mean, as the narrative for a load of people absolutely taking the piss, this fits perfectly.
I’ve heard before the NT has nothing to say about homosexuality, and I’ve never heard this "two guys in bed" verse wheeled out by pro-gay Christians. Surely someone on here, or somewhere, would have used it as a defense by now, even as a half-arsed attempt.

Human brains with lots of commonalities are prone to make common errors and associations that have been fostered by common cultures.

I'm still very interested in this and trying to get to the bottom of it. I have a lack of bible-readers to interview though. It needs to be in person or else they may just look stuff up on the internet because they don’t want to get it wrong.
I talked to a guy today who says he remembers being taught about the passage with the lamb and the wolf.
A chap on the internet is looking into this a lot and is convinced there has actually been a Mandela effect change at around 2016. He’s not a mentalist, he’s actually spot on about a lot of other things. I appreciate many people may consider this stupid/impossible.
I continue to be open minded and to consider the evidence before drawing a conclusion, rather than the other way around. (A scientist I respect reminded me of the importance of that principle.)

I wouldn't know about the timing, but the idea that specific derivations of original quotes emerge, grow, and become widespread is hardly earth shattering, and doesn't require any sort of intentional participation (psyop or otherwise).
I also don;t know that interviewing bible readers would actually help to get to the bottom of it. What are the chances that people who confidently misquote a book can pinpoint how or why they did so? You'd have to have a huge pool in order to posit some demographic explanation, for example...some thing that all of the people who share this misapprehension had in common, and it doesn't seem to be limited to bible readers or bible believers in the first place.
You know what I'd do, to narrow it down? Get someone to ask non english speakers. Might find it there, too..but it would be a good start.

Oh yes, I forgot to say part of the reason he thinks there's been a ME is some internet search data. He claims he found no instances of anyone searching for the "lamb and wolf" verse at all, before 2016. Even all the variations he could think of that people might use came up with nothing. However, searches for the "lion and lamb" verse numbered extremely highly, including lots of different variations.
This is one of a number of things he has found (I won’t bore you with them all but I can link his website if anyone wants) which pick away at the ad-hoc explanations.
Like I say, I’m being open-minded. I’m not saying I believe there has been a ME, I’m just interested in the evidence and how strange it is.
