Church forcing State involvement?

Church forcing State involvement?
There' s a church up the road. Two months ago it was Methodist. Now it' s "Congregational" (wtf is that?) (rumor is they didn' t like the UM accepting gay people) The United Methodist Church owns title to the land and building.

Odds are it will end up in court - deciding which group of fanatics is fellating the invisible man properly - or whatever they're doing over there.

Should Courts be allowed to take these cases? Why are we allowing them to force the courts to recognize their " legitimate claims"?

Fuck 'em I say... Let them battle it out with swords and shields like " good christian soldiers"....Winner takes all.

If it is a simple real estate dispute then the legal system is appropriate. My father is a realtor and specializes in buying/ selling church properties. Tax codes are different than for the rest of us.

You don't think religious people should have access to your court system?  This is the equivalent of saying the laws don't apply to religious people. That's kind of stupid.

And on top of that, it justifies the Catholic church from handling sexual abuse problems as an internal matter. Obviously not practical or desirable.

Seems to me that if they want the benefit of the courts they should have to pay their fair share of taxes to help support the justice system.

Just a thought.

State gets involved and rules that land to be given over to the community that it was originally conned out of.  Simples.
