I see (or I think I do).  When people criticize Christian education, that's free speech.  But Christian education itself is not free speech, and responding to the criticism of it is not free speech.  Got it.

All he's doing is reinforcing the perception that conservative Christians are professional victims in the minds of many people, while also endorsing that feeling of victimhood in his willing audience.

No, Pence, people won't be victimised simply for being Christian. They will be criticised (completely different) for trying to enforce their beliefs on others through politics.

After all, wasn't it part of Jerry Falwell's agenda to get as many conservative Christians into law and politics to push American society to fit with their agenda?

And Hitchens was right, if they gave these people enemas they could bury them in match boxes.
