Fun facts for the afflicted.
Illegals are emphatically not eligible for our safety net. Legals aren’t even eligible until they’ve been residing legally for a number of years.
Mixed status families receive benefits.....on account of the fact that an American citizen is in their care, but by the nature of their mixed status they receive less, costing those programs less.
Of that cost, immigrants pay in more to those programs than they recieve.
Concern trolling over costs is pointless, these facts will not change the mind of the anti-immigrant set because their opinions aren’t based on facts in the first place. Nor frankly, will reminding them that benefits go to citizen children. They prefer to think of them as anchor babies instead of their fellow Americans.
The new cruelty isn’t a bug, it’s a feature. It’s the only thing promised and accomplished, and entirely what the right wing nutballs have in mind when they say “trump did what he said d he would”. That was the part that people voted for, it’s what they wanted, that’s what they were listening to. The re-election bid is going full gestapo because they know that’s what the set wants and they know that this set lives in a fact free world of brown takers who must be punished for having the gall to believe the things we USians say about ourselves and our country.

I think biker may not realize that those are -our- standards, written into our laws.
Not that it would matter, they’re bad laws just like citizen children are anchor babies.
Next we’ll hear that they parrot the words then disappear, not showing up for their cases.

Let me show you how it works (I got this from a friend I served with that recently retired from EPIC who worked closely wth border Patrol)
INS worker: Why are you coming to this country?
Applicant: I want to work hard and make a better life for myself and family.
Outcome : denied. Economic advantage isn't considered high priority......
Or
INS worker: Why do you want to come to this country?
Applicant ( same one, second time around) ASYLUM!
Outcome - allowed to stay pending hearings...
Poor people aren't dumb. They learn the right responses very, very quickly.

Sorry, I was under the impression that, underTrumpian policy, asylum seekers are returned to Mexico to await a decision on their asylum request. If so, this is in direct violation of US and international law.

Well, don’t worry. Uncle Sam will get tired of paying the bills soon...and then remember that it’s perfectly legal to run a full fledged labor camp so long as the human chattel are really bad hombres. The criminals said they came to work, right?

All the canidates answered in the affirmative to the question of free healthcare to people illegally in the country.
When you make it more difficult to deport those who enter the country illegally with kids - or seek asylum with kids - more people bring kids. Kids used to be a rarity. No longer.
Wait till they make it illegal to deport someone " too sick to travel".
Lourdes is going to be sucking hind tit as a tourist destination for the terminally ill.....
