You made a claim that “red flag laws won’t work.” I’m wondering if you’ve researched the subject at all; if any research on laws of that nature exists; if you even bothered to google it? Or, did you just ponder the subject while on the pot, and decide that was sufficient work to form your conclusion from?

It's an opinion. Just like everyone else is expressing.

If you read the OP - I was in favor of these laws - until I got to talking to a 20+ year deputy (young guy - but damned smart) who changed my mind.

It comes down to - the problem children are not going to willingly give up their firearms. A guy who is  planning to go shoot up a mall/school/funeral/ tupperware party isn't going to have a problem lying to the cops.

If Martin Luther King Jr were alive today, I doubt he'd be a fan of our current firearm laws. 

If JFK were alive today, I also think he would not be for our current firearm laws.

But what would they know? They only had their brains blown out. 

Even Reagan who did survive and Brady had the sense to value some action after the fact.

No. But it would be far more effective to simply make problem children have a "no guns" stamp on their I.D. - and require an I.D check at time of sale.

It would save time and money as well.

When his house was bombed in 1956 (pretty sure it was 56) MLK applied for a permit to carry concealed.

I think he would have been delighted to be living today in a "shall issue" climate.
