I used to have a Kia Rio until my ex wife stole it. :-)


I believe in the soul, but my version is that it is mortal and it's that thing you're missing when you're a vegetable.
It is the thing that separates you from a rock.
In other words, I like it better as a word than consciousness, especially in a love song.

Yeah, that sure sounds like an unsupported, bald assertion.

And given that all demonstrable evidence, so far, has pointed to the fact that consciousness is an emergent property of the brain, you need to provide some awfully compelling demonstrable evidence that says otherwise.

You'd believe if you just opened your heart" is a terrible argument for religion. It's basically saying, "If you bias yourself enough, you can convince yourself that this is true." If religion were true, people wouldn't need faith to believe it -- it would be supported by good evidence.
